MERCURY
*Mercury is the smallest planet in our
solar system – only slightly larger than
Earth's Moon.
*Mercury is the planet that orbits the
closest to the Sun.

VENUS
*A day on Venus is longer than a year.
*Venus is hotter than Mercury despite
being further away from the Sun.
*Unlike the other planets in our solar
system, Venus spins clockwise on its
axis. *Venus is the second brightest
natural object in the night sky after
the Moon.
EARTH
*I know that Earth is the only planet
that has oxygen.
*I know that Earth has gravity - I know
that humans live on Earth

this planet?

What I learned
*Mercury has wrinkles. ... *Mercury has
a molten core.
*Mercury is only the second hottest
planet.
*Mercury is the most cratered planet in
the Solar System.
*The biggest crater in Mercury could fit
Western Europe.
*The surface is a rusty color and it’s
peppered with intensely crunched
mountains and thousands of large
volcanoes.

Earth – similar to the pressure you'd
encounter a mile below the ocean on
Earth.
*On Venus, the Sun rises in the west
and sets in the east, opposite to what
we experience on Earth.

URANUS
*I know that the Uranus is the
seventh planet from the sun.
*I know that the Uranus is the
third-largest planetary radius and
fourth-largest planetary mas in the
solar system.
NEPTUNE

eight and farthest-known solar
planet from the sun.
*I know that voyager 2 is the only
spacecraft that has visited
Neptune.

*I learned that there is a high
radiation inside the planet Jupiter.
That's why there are no living
things there.
*I learned that Jupiter and Saturn
protect us from asteroids and
comets.
*I learned that Jupiter is the oldest
planet.
*I learned that it is the brightest
object in the night sky.
*I learned that Jupiter has 79
moons.
*I learned that Jupiter is like an oil
painting.
*I learned that Saturn was noted to
be the slowest- moving.
*I learned that Saturn's rings are
made up almost entirely of ice and
rock coated with other materials
such as dust.
URANUS
*I learned that in Uranus
atmosphere is bland in a
comparison to the other giant
planet, even to the Neptune, which
it otherwise closely resembles.
I learn that Uranus has seen dark
rings but this sighting is generally
considered doubtful, because the
rings are quite faint and none we
noted by other observers.
NEPTUNE
*I learned that the Neptune and
Uranus are both considered ice
giants and both planet have some
similarities.
*I learned that Neptune is the
Farthest-known planet before the
Pluto discovered and now is the
second farthest planet in solar
system.
