DESCRIPTION
The species is also presumed
extinct in the island of Guimaras. To distinguish between male and
female, the first one has a yellow
throat and the latter has a blue throat.
Both have ocular skin, mostly black,
and has a cream-colored tail.

THREATS
Deforestation for farmlands and
poaching. They reproduce slowly, thus
high hunting pressure is damaging.

The reason I chose this particular species is because my father
used to tell me stories about hornbills when he was young. He
told me that he usually sees a lot of them in Cotobato city, but
now he rarely sees as many as he used to.
