It is a PowerPoint plugin for Windows devices, and this installation guide will

show you how to install and set up ClassPoint quickly. In no time you will be
engaging your students during class like never before. Let’s get started.

Compatibility

Before you can begin the installation, you must make sure your device is
compatible with ClassPoint. You can use ClassPoint with Windows 8, and
10, along with Microsoft PPT versions 2013, 2016, 2019, and Office 365.
For now, ClassPoint is not compatible with Macs, ARM-based Windows PCs
(Surface Pro X), or mobile devices that run on iOS or Android. ClassPoint
requires at least .NET Framework 4.7.2 Runtime to work properly. In
addition, ClassPoint requires Visual Studio 2010 Tools for Office Runtime.

Once you have made sure your devices are compatible, you can move on to
the installation.

Installation

To begin the installation you must first have ClassPoint downloaded on your
device. To do so, you can go to classpoint.io and fill up the download form to
have it downloaded in just a couple of minutes.

After you have it downloaded on your Windows device, you can begin the
installation by double-clicking the ClassPoint installer file. This should just
take a few seconds to complete. If you run into issues here, it could be
because you don’t have the relevant rights to install desktop applications on
your PC. You can contact your IT department to check on those installation
rights.

After the installation is complete, you can open up your PowerPoint

application and view the ClassPoint ribbon at the top of the screen.

Signing Up

You are almost ready to begin using ClassPoint; the last step is to create your
account. This can be done by clicking the Sign In button on the ClassPoint
ribbon. Since this is your first time opening PowerPoint after installing
ClassPoint, you need to sign up for an account. This is quick and easy. Fill in
your details, and you’re all set!

You can download ClassPoint on multiple devices and use the same account to
sign in to any of the devices as needed.

Once you sign in to your ClassPoint account for the first time, you will receive our
welcome email with Get-Started video tutorials. Be sure to check your spam folder
in case you don’t see any email in your inbox.

Basic troubleshooting guide

ClassPoint is not in the PowerPoint ribbon

If you don’t see the ClassPoint tab in the PowerPoint ribbon, head over to File -
> Options -> Add-Ins. Under Add-Ins, you can see Inactive Application Add-Ins.
Here, look for Inknoe ClassPoint and check the box. Now you should be able to see
the ribbon at the top of the screen on the last tab.

ClassPoint is not in the Add-in list

If you couldn’t find ClassPoint in the Add-ins list, that means ClassPoint is not
properly installed. One common reason is that the .NET Framework version is
outdated. We recommend you to download and install the latest .Net Framework
Runtime (or at least 4.7.2) and try to install ClassPoint again.

No class code is generated

If you go to PowerPoint full-screen slide show mode and see the ClassPoint
toolbar, but you do not see class code at the top right corner of the slide show,
that might be due to the outdated .NET Framework. We recommend you to
download and install the latest .Net Framework Runtime (or at least 4.7.2)
