Introduction
The VG402 vacuum gauge is an instrument for vacuum measures; it is conceived to be used in the
medium and low vacuum (104 ÷ 10-1 Pa) ranges and for pressure up to 160 bar; more properly,
the VG402 is an instrument that conditions, acquires and displays the signal coming from an
external pressure transducer.
With respect to the old generation vacuum gauges, the new features of the VG402 can be
summarized as follows:
 back-lighted LCD display with alphanumeric and analogical display of measured value
 membrane functional keyboard
 IP54 protection level (only on the front panel)
 serial RS485 interface for host computer
 pressure measurement up to 160 bar using strain gauge transducer
 CE mark
The VG402 is used for vacuum measurement by means of a Pirani gauge head (pressure
transducer) or strain gauge connected to the instrument through a special cable.
VG402 vacuum gauge can have the following main operating uses:
 stand-alone measurement instrument
 instrument integrated as display unit in GTP apparatus

The VG402 can be integrated in the system RECDATA with the possibility to manage one or more
VG in a carousel line and display vacuum curve, report, cycle.
The connection with RECDATA TJ / V SOFTWARE is through the RS485 port, a blue LED on the front
panel indicates
when the VG402 is correctly linked.
