1. Your pen pal wants a description of your school. Write the email you send him/her.

2. Your mother leaves you a note giving two instructions that she would like you to follow.
Write the note you receive.

3. Your friend cannot go out with you tonight. Write the email you receive in which he/she
apologizes and suggests an alternative arrangement.

4. It´s your best friend´s birthday. How would you wish him/her happy birthday?

5. Your uncle abroad has sent you a gift which you are very pleased with. Write an email
thanking him for the gift.

6. Your teacher asks you to write two qualities you admire most about your best friend. Write
the response you send to him/her.

7. You pass a note to the teacher asking permission to go to the bathroom. What does the
note say?

8. Your brother lives abroad and has received an award. Write the text message you send to
congratulate him.

9. Your teacher would like to know at what time you go to sleep in the night. Tell her you go
to sleep at 9:00 p.m. every night.

10. Your roommate asks you about your family. Tell him/her 2 reasons why you like your
family.

You have received a scholarship to study in Colombia for a year. The college’s newsletter would
like to know about your school in St. Lucia. Write the composition in which you include the
following points:

(ii) Types of facilities and extracurricular activities offered
(iii) Details about subjects you study and teachers
(iv) Why you think it is the best school

Debbie’s daily routine

Mi sobrina Debbie normalmente es una persona muy ocupada pero ella es muy responsable. Entre
sus responsabilidades domésticas y su trabajo no hay suficientes horas del día para ella. Siempre
tiene un calendario lleno de actividades. Su mañana comienza muy temprano con la preparación
del desayuno para su familia y el almuerzo para sus tres hijas. A las siete y media de la mañana
despierta a sus hijas para prepararlas para la escuela. Sus clases empiezan a las nueve. El esposo
de Debbie lleva a las chicas a su escuela.
Cuando sus hijas salen de la casa, Debbie puede prepararse para su trabajo como secretaria en una
compañía grande en la ciudad. Ella pasa todo el día en su oficina contestando el teléfono, o
enviando correos electrónicos a otras compañías. Su día laboral termina a las tres y cuatro y una
vez más, vuelve a sus responsabilidades en la casa.
Cuando Debbie tiene tiempo libre, ella lee una novela romántica o mira una película para relajarse.
Debbie siempre está cansada pero la realidad de la situación es que a ella le gusta la vida
exactamente como es y no la cambiará para nada.
