REFLECTION

ATHE SEVEN CATHOLIC SOCIAL TEACHINGS

ADAM, PRINCESS MAY D. BSA 2B

The Seven Catholic Social Teachings are rich treasure of wisdom about building a just
society and living lives of holiness amidst the challenges of modern society.

As we connect the vision and mission of Our Lady of the Pillar College, Dignity of work
and worker's rights reflects the value of work in each of our teachers, their rights to
claim and have proper wage and a just society for the students to learn. Care for God's
creation, somehow reflects the stewardship among the students and teachers, as being
a good citizen for his creation and by having good and acceptable behavior among
others. Rights and Responsibilities showcases the duties of each teachers and students
in the school, teachers provide us guidance and protection, and students to show
obedience and respect.

The call to Family, Community and Participation reflects the school's active participation
in church, by conducting monthly mass and recollections, which shows a fostering
belonging and having connection with God as an evangelizing arm of the local
church.The preferential option for the poor and marginalized, reflects the school on
giving opportunity to marginalized people, by being fair and considerable in giving
options to them and also a deep concern for the environment. Solidarity solely reflects
the sense of camaraderie, to love one another, show respect and treat them like our
own brothers and sisters. The dignity and value of human life showcases the school in
giving value in each of its educators, learners and quality of education.

It is important to know the 7 catholic social teachings, specially in consideration that we


are Christians. It will serve as our guidance on how to treat others well, give proper
values and respect and have a camaraderie among with other people.
