Chapter 5

SUMMARY OF FINDINGS,CONCLUSIONS, AND RECOMMENDATIONS

This chapter discusses the summary of the findings of

this study, the conclusions drawn, and the recommendations.

Summary of Findings

These are the results of the analysis and

interpretation of the data:

1. Profile of the respondents

1.1 Most of the respondents are from Saint Gregory The

Great.

1.2 There are higher numbers of male STEM students than of

female

1.3 Most of the respondents are 16 years old

2. Assessment of the Grade 11 STEM studets in their Pre -

Calculus subject

2.1 The assessment of the respondents about their perception

about the difficulties in Pre- Calculus is “sometimes”

difficult.
2.2 The assessment of the respondents about their knowledge

on Trigonometric functions is “sometimes”difficult.

2.3 The assessment of the respondents about their knowledge

on Analytical Geometry is “sometimes”difficult.

2.4 The assessment of the respondents about their knowledge

about Arithmetic sequence is “sometimes”difficult.

2.5 The assessment of the respondents about their

Difficulties Encountered in Pre – Calculus is “sometimes”

difficult.

3. Problems encountered

3.1 The problem most encountered by the Grade 11 STEM

students is they don’t pay attention and participate in

class activities.

Conclusion

Based on the findings, the overall assesssment is that

most of the students sometimes faced difficulties in

learning Pre- Calculus and the sub topic of the subject.

This implies that most of the students needs more

attention ,interest, time and we found out that the teaching

style of the teachers in Pre- Calculus really affects the

improvement and learning skills of the students.


The result shows that the students must know the basic

Mathematical functions and lessons in Pre-Calculus for as

them to easily follow and understand the more critical Pre-

Calculus problems and equations. In addition, The teaching

styles of the teachers totally affect the Interest and

participation of the students in learning the Subject,

Teachers are responsible for having a good teaching style

manners for as the students will have improvements and

consistency in learning the subject.
