To Whom It May Concern:

I am writing to recommend Morgan LeGrand to you. Morgan worked as a student teacher at the South
Dakota State University Fishback Center for Early Childhood Education. This is an on-site childcare lab
program. I observed her within a teaching capacity as I am a Mentor Teach at the SDSU Preschool
Laboratory. She was involved in the Morning Three and Four-Year- Old Lab for her student teaching
experience.

In the time I have known Morgan, she demonstrated professionalism and the ability to interact and
connect with children in a developmentally appropriate manner. As a student teacher Morgan is
responsible for the planning and implementation of childcare for certain weeks in the semester. This
included in person visits with families and setting developmentally appropriate goals for the children in
the classroom. Morgan showed leadership during her teaching weeks. She was always prepared and
organized. She took time to plan for the unexpected, so the classroom ran smoothly. Morgan’s work was
detailed and exceptional. On top of teaching Morgan turned in all work in a timely manner and showed
exceptional knowledge about each subject.

Morgan asks questions to increase her knowledge and understanding of the children and their learning
processes. She is a team player and willing to change plans when needed. At the beginning of the
semester, she was assigned a group of children. She strived to accommodate to all the children in the
classroom, not just her assigned children. She is hard working and committed to doing her best.

Throughout the semester I watched as Morgan grew into a professional. I feel very fortunate to have
had her as a part of my teaching team. She is dedicated to her work. Her work ethic and skills made her
an asset to the South Dakota State University Fishback Center for Early Childhood Education. Morgan’s
abilities would be a wonderful addition to any educational program.
