A POEM ON DEVELOPMENT

NAME: ANGELICA B. CHUA

DATE: OCTOBER 10, 2021

TWO-PARAGRAPH ANALYSIS

The poem talks about development. It criticizes the concept of development

as taken by how people think about what development is. The persona of the
poem is neutral and at the same time unhappy because of what is taking
place in the society. Thus creates an unhappy but also neutral mood towards
the poem. The poem is a modern/free verse poem but specifically a didactic
poem as it gives its own view of development.

There are 5 stanzas of unequal length and uneven number of verses. As for real,
the poem has succeeded to pinpoint the reality of most society and how
people view development. To assess how much progress a thing represents,
we must consider the people who brought it about, as well as how and why
they did it.
