Mixed-Method Study on Lazada Users

The study employs a Mixed-Method research design to investigate customer experiences with Lazada in General Santos City, involving 1,000 respondents selected through probability random sampling. Data was collected via self-administered surveys and interviews, with a focus on both quantitative and qualitative responses. Statistical analysis was conducted using frequency and percentile methods to interpret the gathered data.

METHODOLOGY

This shows the research design, the research locale, the respondents of
the study, the sampling, the data gathering procedure, the research instrument
and statistical treatment used.

Research Design

The researchers utilized a Mixed-Method research design in determining

the problems of the company and we want to gather the answers through survey
form. This mixed method research design helps us to accurately address the
study’s problems mentioned, that cannot be completely answered through
quantitative or qualitative research alone.

Locale of the Study

The study was conducted at General Santos City. The city was fortunate
and blessed for it is the regional center of commerce and industry of the
Soccsksargen region and is geographically located within the province of South
Cotabato but administered independently of it. This city was purposefully chosen
especially because the respondents are residing in the said location. As we have
observed, there are many online shopping customers in the area and it is
convenient to the researchers in gathering data for the reason that the
researchers are also residents of this city. Researchers also wanted to help e-
commerce sites, especially Lazada to formulate some strategies or preventive
measures to keep their customers from transferring to other sites.

Respondents of the Study

The respondents of this study are 1,000 out of 697,315 people of General
Santos City who are currently customers of Lazada. They were chosen to
provide necessary information about their shopping experience with Lazada. The
respondents of the study were those customers with no particular ages range
and no particular gender. From the number of respondents, seven hundred (700)
customers are selected to answer the quantitative questions while the other three
hundred (300) customers are for the qualitative approach.

Sampling

With an approximate number of customers in General Santos City, the

researchers used some of them as the respondents of the study. Customers with
no particular ages range were the respondents since, these people are currently
purchasing through Lazada. The sampling design used in this study is probability
random sampling.

Research Instruments

The study made use of the self-administered survey questionnaire to

gather data. Researchers gathered data through the interview guide question for
the qualitative respondents. This involves converting the responses into a
numeric form, often percentages as to make it easy to compare responses. The
questionnaire analysis was simple, puts all the questionnaire results into charts
and graphs making it quicker and easier to analyze the information. Furthermore,
this also means that all the information is being represented correctly so it is less
likely to be misinterpreted.

Data Gathering Procedure

The researchers randomly select residents of General Santos City with no

ages range as the respondents and the researchers gave the survey
questionnaire to the respondents. A total of One thousand (1,000) respondents
accomplished the survey questionnaire. On the number of all the customers who
are shopping in Lazada, the researchers collected data through a quantitative
question answerable by yes or no which is on the survey questionnaire. In
gathering data on other questions, structured questionnaires will be used.

The researchers asked the permission of the City Mayor before

conducting the survey. Seven hundred (700) of the respondents are given 2
minutes to answer the questions as sources of information about them through
google forms while the other three hundred (300) respondents had a 5 minutes
interview with the researchers through google meet or videocall via messenger.
The researchers evaluated, analyzed and presented all the answers of the
respondents after gathering all the information. The respondents’ responses
were tallied and subjected to appropriate statistical analysis and interpretation.

Statistical Treatment

The statistical method that the researcher used was Frequency and
Percentile in calculating the results.
