Leadership Experiences

● The leader of social studies curriculum for my grade level team.


● Was a leader at my local church to help mentor young girls ages junior high
through high school.

Leadership Goals

I will develop my leadership in Teaching and Learning (Writing - Argumentative Essay


emphasis)
● GOAL: Encourage student engagement in using claim-evidence-reasoning
practices when writing argumentative essays.
● OBJECTIVE: Develop and implement at least one argumentative essay topic per
trimester (short/long-term).
● RATIONALE: Reflects new ways to Introduce C-E-R Writing
● NBPTS: Proposition 2: Teachers know the subjects they teach and how to teach
those subjects to students.
● TLMD: Domain 4. Facilitating Improvements in Instruction and Student Learning.
● TEACHER INQUIRY: I will develop my skills in teaching claim-evidence-reasoning
writing through my teacher inquiry of introducing the concept in a new and fun
way.

I will develop my leadership in Professional Development (All Content Areas)


● GOAL: Attend district board meetings once a month.
● OBJECTIVE: As a professional educator, attend district meetings once a month
(short/long term).
● RATIONALE: There are many benefits to being at a board meeting for topics that
are related to my school or educators in the district specifically (Reasons to Attend
School Board Meetings)
● NBPTS: Proposition 5: Teachers are members of professional communities.​
● TLMD: Domain 6. Improves outreach and collaboration with families and
communities.

I will develop my leadership in Student Assessment (ELA & Social Studies - use of DBQs)
● GOAL: Use a variety of qualitative and quantitative assessments for school
improvement, instructional improvement, and enhanced student learning.
● OBJECTIVE: In my ELA and social studies time, develop assignments and rubrics
for scoring document-based questions (DBQs) (short-term).
● OBJECTIVE: Using document-based questions for instructional and assessment
purposes in all content areas (long-term).
● RATIONALE: Use of DBQ helps students read smart, think straight, and write
clearly.
● NBPTS: Proposition 3: Teachers are responsible for managing and monitoring
student learning.
● TLMD: Domain 5. Promoting the Use of Assessments and Data for School and
District Improvement.
