presence of SABIC/IBB. If previously painted surface dissolves or new finish.

The priming coat shall cover the entire surface profile of the steel surface. Each
coat shall be applied as uniformly as possibly & without leaving any areas
uncovered
All materials shall be evenly applied to form continuous , unbroken coatings

Stains by brush shall be applied in a uniform manner , allowing no contrasting


color or shading on adjacent surfaces

Proper ventilation shall be maintained in area of work

Field Quality Control & Remedial Work

The dry film thickness (DFT)) shall be field tested with a magnetic gage(for
steel). The testing method shall be in accordance with SSPC PA2
Precautions shall be taken to protect adjacent coated areas from damage caused
by local abrasive blasting
Defects in any paint coat which may lead to a reduction in the protection
provided by the coat, or which have a significant effect on appearance shall be
repaired prior to application of the next coat

Latest IFC drawings are approved

Appropriate Gypsum Board material is used. (Example:


Waterproof Gypsum Board for Toilets, Kitchen/Tea rooms,
Ordinary for general use., etc.)

Gypsum board thickness is generally 19 mm unless otherwise


specified.
All gypsum board materials specified shall comply to the
requirements of ASTM C 1396

Allowable thickness variation shall be +/-0.4 mm


Allowable width variation shall be 3 mm
End squareness variation shall be +/-3 mm in the fulll width of
the board
For water resistant Gypsum Boards, the specimen shall have
an average water ASTM C 1396 Certificate absorption of not
more than 5 % weight after 2 hours of immersion.
For water resistant Gypsum Boards, the specimens shall have
an average surface water absorption of not more than 1.6gg
afer 2 hours elapsed

Type X Gypsum Board (Special Fire Rated) shall be tested in


accordance with test method E 119

Metal studs, runners and other framing members shall be


manufactured from steel having minimum thickness of 0.455
mm (0.0179in) before protective coating and shall have a
minimum protective coating conforming to ASTM A 653-G40.
Minimum base metal thickness shall be 95% of the design
thickness.

Runners shall be aligned accurately at the floor and ceiling. It


shall be anchored approximately 2 in. (50mm) from runner
ends and 24 in. (610mm) on center. It shall also be anchored
on all corners.

03 Best surface preparation would be with abrasive seep blasting

High pressure fresh water wash shall be carried out with a fan jet lance providing
04 nozzle pressure of approximately 3000 psi (207 bar/210kg/sq.cm) with sufficient
volume of water
All blowholes, pinholes, shall be treated with an epoxy mortar- two packs or

three pack. Ensure to abrade the surface again prior to application of paint system
Power tool with lightly power disc needle gun is advised for areas less than 0.1

sq.m
All sharp dimension changes such as fillets shall be filled with the coating
manufacturer’s recommended patching compound to obtain a smooth contour.

The minimum throat dimensions of shell to bottom fillet in storage tank shall be
25 mm
08 Surface profile is 65-100 microns

Surface shall be treated with amine cured epoxy sealer as per manufacturer’s

Foundations/ Structures

New concrete /Old Concrete floors shall be removed of oil, grease, wax with

suitable degreaser with manual tool(if too dense/ thick)

Wash the surface with high pressure freshwater if necessary and allow to dry and

ensure moisture is less
Prepare the floor surface by grinding with a diamond disc grinding machine to
14 get the required profile as well for removing curing compound, laitance,
efflorescence, etc.

15 Remove any dust generated by using industrial heavy duty vaccum cleaner

Any holes or cracks (should be V-Cut) or any imperfections shall be filled with
16
compatible or appropriate sealer as per manufacturer’s recommendation
