“Keep on Going”

A person decides on multiple things throughout their day, like what they
should have for dinner, the clothes they should wear, or the beginning of a new
relationship. Everyone in life is faced with good and bad decisions that can either
have a good outcome in life or it can take a turn for the worst. Everyone wants to
make good decisions in life and when making decisions, people need to understand
that decision making requires looking inward at one’s self, then outward at the world
around them, and then back in again. However, making decisions is a very
complicated procedure and requires the consideration of many different factors and
a major factor is a person’s perception. A person does not decide by simply popping
up in mind instead, decisions are constructed on perceptions.

As a millennial, I have a lot of decisions to deal with and it not easy to

make decisions for the reason that other people might judge you especially in this
modern world, with the use of social media other people can easily spread about
you. However, there’s one time in my life that my decision was affected because I
considered how would it be perceived by other people and that was during I am in
Junior High School. During Junior High School I decided that I want to excel in my
academics and get high grades for a better future but unluckily I wasn’t able to do
that decision because I am afraid to be judged when I fail. Every time we have a
recitation or performance task in our class I do not perform well because I think I did
something wrong my classmates will underestimate my ability or maybe they will
talk something not good about me. As a result, my teachers weren’t able to
recognize me and I do not exceed with my academics and I lose my self-esteem.

This decision made me realized that I was wrong because even if I did
something wrong or even though if I failed still there are people with me, who will
believe in me and on my ability. I should not care what other people think about me
but rather continue what is in my heart and what I think the right thing to do. Unless
you are not doing a thing that may affect you and people around you continue to
continue what decision it is because, in the end, you are the one who will benefit
from it. Do not be afraid of failure for the reason that Jay Samit once said that
“Failure is not the opposite of success it is a part of Success”.
