Dr. David Sinclair believes and asserts that aging is a treatable disease.
Aging is defined as a deterioration in health and illness. There are eight or nine
hallmarks, and our bodies losing vital information as we age is what causes
many of the hallmarks that we know exist. We age as a result of damage to our
body's cells throughout time. Aging is a loss of epigenetic information required
to read the digital genome, similar to how a DVD becomes damaged over time.
The epigenome information is stored on a DVD, which becomes scratched as
we age, and reprogramming polishes the DVD so that it can read the genes
correctly. The main driver of aging is epigenome. He believes that there is
genetic information that is digital and is represented by ACTG, the chemical
letters of DNA, but there is another component of the information in the body
that controls which genes are switched on and off in what cell at what time in
reaction to what we consume. And it turns out that the control systems, which
are epigenetic information, regulate 80 percent of our future lifespan and health.
They also discuss the use of growth hormone, the effect of fasting, why
drinking too much wine is bad for your liver, supplements that can help you age
better or manage health conditions, the benefits of plants, which are highly
nutritious and can provide you with a lot of vitamins due to their xenohormetic
molecules, food choices that help to slow down aging, what is obesity and how
it accelerates aging, and how cigarettes have a big impact on aging, and many
other discussions. These elements influence aging; if you wish to live longer,
you should avoid the factors mentioned in the podcast. Development is a never-
ending process. Your entire life is a series of developmental stages. This
episode helps you to understand that several variables influence aging, which is
why this podcast is so important: to educate as many people as possible to live
longer. The foods you consume have consequences, and they may be beneficial
or harmful, which is why your lifestyle has such a significant impact on aging.
