Merry Christmas and Congratulations on starting to play the piano!
This book is intended for students who have recently began the piano in the last
several months before Christmas. All of the pieces in this collection are written with
pre-reading notation and omits items such as dynamics and bar lines to ensure easiness for
students of the earliest levels. Each piece includes a duet part to play with a parent, older sibling, or
teacher. When playing with the duet, students should play at least one octave higher than written.
Students should be encouraged to learn as many of these pieces as they can before the holidays.
Playing for friends and family at Christmastime is a wonderful opportunity for beginning students to
perform!

I hope you and your family enjoy exploring the classic Christmas pieces in this book.

In “Carol of the Bells”, we see this rhythm pattern:
1. Before playing this piece, your teacher will clap a rhythm pattern. Echo
