Topic : Some people say that television is a very useful tool when it comes to education.

Others
argue that television is a much overused, ineffective teacher. Discuss both views and give your
opinion.

In this day and age with the innovation of technology, the matter of
whether television is useful or not when it comes to education has
attracted so much concern. While some people suppose that
television can be regarded as an early instructor, others hold the
perspective that it is an ineffectual tool. In this essay, a closer look on
both sides will be carried out before a personal opinion is mentioned.

On the one hand, it is undeniable that TV box set has numerous

benefits in learning. Television is proved to have an array of
educational programs which have sound, colorful pictures. It means
that it is much easier to take in knowledge that is transmitted in each
lesson. To exemplify, history channel enables watchers to have more
in-depth knowledge about historical events which are buried deep
into the library books in a more exciting way with illustrating images.
Hence, boring historical events come to life and effortlessly get
access to it.

Nonetheless, despite aforementioned merit, television still can’t hold

the place of teachers in a class. It is only an appliance that supplies
lessons, so students are not be controlled, disciplined. This presents
a problem that students may get access to social media to chat with
their friends instead of doing cognitive training. As a result, their
academic performance undoubtedly becomes bad.

In brief, although many argue that the presence of television has

made learning easier. In my belief, how effective the use of television
in education depends on the purpose and method used by teachers
as well as students. Therefore, in order to exploit all the advantages
of television, students who use it must be under the control of
teachers, parents.
