Quitting
EViews:
Quitting
from
the
standard
OSX
menu
(EViews-‐>quit
or
cmd+q)
will
terminate
EViews
without
saving
your
work.
To
have
EViews
prompt
for
saving
prior
to
exit,
you
should
use
the
EViews
menu
item
“File-‐>Exit”
or
by
pressing
the
red
dot
located
in
the
EViews
caption
bar.
Drive
notation:
Within
the
EViews
application,
you
will
often
see
the
z:
drive.
This
is
the
equivalent
of
the
root
drive
of
your
system
“//”.
Because
the
EViews
7
SV
is
not
a
native
OSX
application
and
in
fact
a
port,
some
Windows
constructs
were
ported
over
as
well.
Some
Unix
constructs
are
not
supported
when
specifying
a
path,
such
as
the
~
symbol.
Searching
in
help
system:
The
search
tab
in
the
help
system
has
been
removed.
This
is
due
to
compatibility
issues
when
using
chm
(a
Windows
format)
files
on
OSX.
We
recommend
searching
PDF
files
of
the
help
system.
They
can
be
found
in
the
‘EViews
7SV/Docs’
directory.
Menuing:
All
EViews
specific
menu
items
can
be
found
within
the
EViews
application
window
and
not
in
the
standard
OSX
menu
at
the
top
of
the
display.
With
the
exception
of
‘Quit’
all
menu
items
in
the
standard
OSX
menu
do
not
affect
EViews.
This
includes
the
‘Help’
and
‘Help-‐>Search’
menus.
Asian
systems:
Editor
windows
(such
as
the
command
window)
will
always
default
to
using
a
font
that
supports
the
language
of
your
machine.
It
may
therefore
appear
as
though
font
selection
is
not
working
in
cases
where
the
chosen
font
does
not
support
the
language
of
your
machine.
On
Window
systems,
you
could
use
any
font
and
if
that
font
did
not
support
a
particular
character,
Windows
would
choose
a
font
for
that
one
character.
Wine
uses
an
all
or
nothing
policy.
On
some
Asian
systems
(such
as
Korean)
paths
or
filenames
that
contain
non-‐ASCII
characters
are
not
supported.
