 Teaching steps used by Teacher Chit (Intermediate Class)
Purpose of Today’s Lesson
 To be confident in speaking using clauses
 To know vocabularies related to technology
 To know how to define subjects using relative clauses
 To know how to pronounce words learnt from the lessons
Steps used by Teacher Chit
Step 1 Before starting lessons, she revised the lessons
taught yesterday.
Asked “What did you learned yesterday”
Step 2 She taught “chunks” for pronunciation.
Step 3 Students had to make their own sentences using
vocabs taught yesterday.
Step 4 She started new lesson “Technology”
Write down 5 things that are common today but
which did not exist or were uncommon 20 years
ago. She insisted students to pick up 2 things from
their lists and students had to search them on
Google
Step 5 After teaching vocabs related to technology, she
gave exercises. Matching words with definitions.
Step 6 She taught relative clauses and pronouns.
She let students search on Google what are
relative clauses.
She explained the types of RC and their uses.
Step 7 She gave exercises for relative clause.
Step 8 Speaking practice (group work)
And she gave feedback
Step 9 She taught vocabs and how to define them (using
clauses) by matching two sentences.
Step 10 She asked for students’ questions before ending
My expected Rationale for each step
We should make a short revision prior
to the next lessons so that students
can remember what they had learnt
from the previous lessons.
Pronunciation features like chunks,
tones are essential to improve
speaking skill. We should teach
pronunciation every day.
This can improve their writing skill.
This can improve their vocabs.
To know how to use these vocabs
appropriately. They can know in what
situation they can use them by
knowing the meanings of the words.
This is an essential lesson to improve
their writing. They can write advanced
structures.
We should give students a chance to
practice with some exercises.
We should let them speak to boost
their confident in speaking and ideas.
We can use matching words and their
meanings to teach vocabularies.
It is important to let students ask for
 the class. the questions if they did not catch the
