 Teaching steps used by Teacher Ei (Essential Grammar Class)

Purpose of Today’s Lesson

 To be proficient in the use of different tenses

 To improve Listening skill
 To apply different tenses in speaking and writing

Steps used by Teacher Chit My expected Rationale for each step

Step 1 Before starting lessons, she revised the lessons
taught previously.
Step 2 She started with the lesson (categorize simple,
past, continuous and perfect tenses)
One-to-one coaching to students and let them
categorize each sentence which tense is used.
We should make a short revision prior
to the next lessons so that students
can remember what they had learnt
from the previous lessons.
After introducing a tense, it is a good
idea to practice with exercises and
give one-to-one feedback.

Step 3 She put students in break out room and let them
practice (group work)
Step 4 She asked the students the reasons of the
answers. If the answer is simple tense, they have
to explain why it is a simple tense. (daily routine or
regularity)
This can improve their specking skill.
So, we should let them discuss with
their partners after teaching a lesson.
We should teach the tenses with
reasons instead of giving formats.

Step 5 She moved to another lessons; Future tense. This can improve Listening skill and it
