The classroom had tables and they were clear from anything on them. The board was already
organized with concepts of the new lesson plan the teacher was going to teach. There were
cubbies where work is turned in, in an organized manner. The class was facing forward while the
teacher and her computer were in front of the classroom.

The teacher used good ol paper and whiteboard. She had a projector to use, and a computer but
for this lesson she didn't need it. She did just fine without it.
5. Describe the teacher’s teaching style. Give examples. She definitely had an authoritarian style
to her teaching but it was done very well. She also had a demonstrator style, she demonstrated
and then let them talk amongst each other real quick to teach each other what they just learned.
6. How does the teacher incorporate the sensory modalities (learning styles)? Give examples.
She was catering to all of the learning styles students have. She verbally instructed them for the
auditory learners. She repeated and wanted them to recall information. She also used the images
of a slope, and images of a stick figure walking forward up or down or undefined of a stick
figure. Tactile learners can learn by doing the movements the teacher was acting out same goes
to the kinesthetic learners.
7. Explain all the ways the students are engaged in the lesson with examples from the class.

She had the class focused and excited to be learning.

the lesson. The teacher wants their students to be participating at an 100% effort level. She
praises them and gives them a point when they are doing good. Also takes off a point when they
didn’t give the maximum amount of effort. Meaning, some effort is not all good effort, it has to
be 100%. She wants all of them to teach each other, and participate and act out everything she
instructs.
11. Evaluate the interactions between teacher and students, rapport, cohesiveness, distribution of
power, teacher personality. Provide examples for each. The teacher knows that her job is to
teach and wants to teach as good and effectively as possible. She knows her students will
participate and they should since she's doing a very good job at teaching. She has the power, but
also lends some power to them to showcase what they learn to their peers. The blend of fun with
education , she mentions stick figures and walking and falling but all for the sake of education
and for the lesson to be as effective as possible.

she mentions that she went over the rules of the classroom, what's acceptable and what's not acceptable. She
mentions if you stick to routines, structures and boundaries. She says teaching involves managing all of your
students while delivering your subject matter.

b) Title of the video you chose to watch: A Student-Centered Model of Blended Learning
d) One paragraph summary that details what you WATCHED, LEARNED, and
AGREE/DISAGREE with. Be sure to summarize all three.
The video summarized that students feel tense, especially if they are behind. They all walk into
class picking up where they left off. They have a broad variety of learning and academic
performance. Some students have trauma and issues they are dealing with. The teacher realized
that his conventional way of learning was not working out for him. He changed his method of
learning. Blended instruction, self paced structure, mastery based grading. The teacher does the
videos on the computers himself, and the students are able to listen to the video over and over
again. Students can help each other or go at their own pace. They need to answer the exit ticket
to see if they understand the lesson. The teacher can work freely with other students, instead as a
whole.
e) Write 3 (three) OPEN ENDED QUESTIONS that you would ask to evaluate the
comprehension of other students who watched this same video. Use Bloom's Taxonomy verbs
(link below) to write the questions. Write 3 different levels of evaluation questions and identify
the level of each question.
How would you compose a strategy for the most success in the classroom?
How could you modify this type of at your own pace type of learning with traditional learning
styles?
Test the teachers way of teaching to how you would want to be taught? Evaluate the two.
