1.0 Course Purpose: 
This course aims to introduce the learners to international business environment, the foreign
direct investments, international transfer of technology and risk management
2.0 Expected Learning Outcomes
At the end of this course unit, the student should be able to:-
1. Describe the international business environment and its implication
2. Explain the need for international transfer of technology
3. Evaluate the foreign exchange exposure for an international business
3.0 Course Content
The international business environment; Alternative foreign involvement strategies i.e. exporting
licensing; Direct investment; International competition; Relation between multinational firms
and host nations; International transfer of technology; Position of developing countries in
international business; Risk management; Forex transactions and international trade
4.0 Mode of Delivery
Lectures, Tutorials, Case Studies, Group Discussions and Presentations

6.0 Course Assessment
The final exam examination grade will be based on the following:
Continuous Assessment Test (CATs) 30%
Final Exam 70%
