Industrial Legislations
Term Project/Paper
Introduction
This hands-on, group-oriented assignment help students (Walk-the–Talk)
demonstrate knowledge and understanding of industrial legislation
enforcement consequences, get acquainted with the real world
environmental problems on global and local levels, and apply end-of-life-
stage techniques and tools in minimizing/preventing industrial wastes.
Syndicates
The students are grouped into teams; each consists of 5 members at most.

Project Indicative Topics:


Groups have to select an environmental topic to investigate and present
their findings. Topics may embrace –but not limited to- these headings:
1. Managing Product life cycle with emphasis on its end-of-life-stage:
a. Recycling
b. Reuse
c. Remanufacturing
d. Disposal / Discard/ Dump
2. Measuring hazards at work place
3. How companies handle its industrial waste to get abide with industrial
legislations (for instance; Law 4 for year 1994).
4. Solid Waste Management
5. …………………………………..

Project Procedure:

- Groups must collect data from the Egyptian environment through:


o Field visits
o Interviews

o Interviews with questionnaires


o Production study techniques
o Others
- Report volume must not exceed 15 (fifteen) pages with as many of
appendixes

Project Duration:
Assignment duration is one month
Grades
The students get graded out of 30 marks that are distributed as follows:
- 5 marks for class work and interim presentation (s)
- 25 marks for the final report distributed as follows:
o 10 marks for report formatting
o 15 marks for the content
Then, the grades are prorated to 25 marks
