Instructions:

Read the questions carefully and apply the appropriate formula and functions in the source file
provided. Open and examine the details given in the Y9_MYE_SourceFile.xls file. Save this file with

Tasks 1: Formula and Function


Refer to Sheet 1 in the source file and apply the following:

1. Merge cells A1 to G1 (1m)

2. Format this merged cell so that: (5m)

a. text is center aligned


b. text is white
c. font size is 24 point
d. Text is in Times New Roman
e. Cells have dark green background color.

3. Create a named range “JC” for data in cells A5 to B14. (1m)

4. Draw a table for the following data


a. Job Details (1m)
b. Salary Details (1m)
c. Bold the table header of both tables and set the font size to 16 points. (4m)

5. Bold the table header in row 17 and set the font size to 14 points. (2m)

6. Set the data in cell D4 to E8 to appear centered. (1m)

7. In cell D18 enter a function to look up the pay rate for this employee.
Apply absolute cell referencing for the range of values selected. (2m)

8. In cell G18 enter a formula to calculate the pay for this employee.
Multiply the rate of pay by the number of hours worked. (1m)

9. Replicate the formulae in steps 6 and 7 for all employees. (2m)

10. In cell F60 enter a function to calculate the average number of hours worked (1m)
by the employees.

11. Round off the value in F60 to two decimal places (1m)

12. Find the integer value of the average number of hours worked in cell F61 (1m)

13. In cell K3 enter a function to calculate the total pay for all employee. (1m)

14. In cell K15, calculate the total pay of Henry Gale, Kurtis Brown and
Clemantine Leadbetter. Then multiple the pay by 5. (3m)

15. In cell K4 enter a function that calculates the total contract hours (1m)

16. In cells K8 to K12, apply an IF function to identify the status of the employees (5m)
listed in your source file.
a. If the hours worked are 20hours and below, then print the status “insufficient”
b. If the hours worked are above 20hours, then print the status “excellent”

Task 2: Graphs and Charts


Refer to Sheet 2 in the source file and apply the following:

Create a pie chart that represents the percentage on the number of species for all the different animals listed
in the table. Add the following details to the pie chart
1. Add the title “Animals in Malaysia” in the chart area
2. Place the legend on the right of the chart
3. Add data labels to the pie chart
4. Make the pie chart appear in 3D
5. Highlight the rodent segment in the pie chart
6. Ensure that the chart has different colors for each segment
7. Ensure that all details are fully visible on the Chart Area
