SOCIAL NETWORKING
Social networking platforms are used by organisation to improve communication and
productivity by disseminating information among different groups of employees in a more
efficient manner.
The advantages and disadvantages of social media are as follows.
Advantages
• Facilities open communication.
• Allows employees to discuss ideas.
• Provides an opportunity to widen business contracts.
• Targets a wide audience.
• Improves business reputation and client base.
• Expands market research.
Disadvantages
• Susceptible to fraud
• Potentially results to hate speech
• Destructs normal business operations
Employers do have the right to ban computer activity that is not work related, this approach
may not yield optimal results.
If employees are to be allowed access to social networking platforms then a comprehensive
and well defined policy should be established to prevent abuses.
(i) Change the font style for title to 18pts, font colour red, font type Tahoma. [1]

COMPUTERS IN A WORK PLACE
Today, a huge number of white-collar workers use computers in their daily work. Most
of these workers also have access to the Internet. Using the Internet for work purposes is
becoming more and more common and, most of the time, is quite effective. Some organizations
are finding, though, that a number of their workers do abuse the Internet. The abuse tends to
occur in two forms.
The first type of abuse they find is that a large number of employees visit sites that are
not related in any way to their work. Some of the sites that workers visit contain material that
is very offensive to others. The problem is more serious when offensive e-mails or material
from websites are sent to other employees. In some cases, the courts have found that these
materials create a hostile work environment. The second type of abuse is the waste of work
time. Employees who spend excessive amounts of time surfing the Internet simply are not
doing the work they are paid to do.
A number of large companies are trying to deal with this problem by buying software
that they use to track the sites that workers access from their computers. These companies
warn all of their employees that visiting offensive sites at work can have major consequences
and might even result in job loss. They tend to be a little more lenient on the time abuse issue
and often treat the Internet the same way that they deal with the telephone. Limited personal
use of the Internet or e-mail is not a major problem. If the use becomes excessive, then action
is taken.
(a) Change the font style of the title to Comic Sans, font size 18 pt and centre align. [1]

(e) In cell L4: Mwachiyeya is not happy with the number of sales on a Saturday and
wants to set a new target for his staff. To set the new target, you must multiply the
existing Saturday sales figure for each item by 4 and divide that amount by 3. Copy the
