1. The Equality in America is not equal.! .. This is a fact because for black women in
the context of a highly segregated beauty culture industry.

Black girl and women have been treaded poorly since 1960 in the beauty industry.
Black women found themselves forced into one job category, house servant. Jo ann
gibson-robinson (1987), a biographer of the civil rights movement, described the
limited opportunities for black women in the 1950. I think the market for black
women was ignored because you would then have to acknowledge that black
women are beautiful.
It was almost as if black women didn't
exist in the beauty industry. Melissa

black women , naturally I’m frustrated
because I don't see myself being
marketed,and I don't see representation
of women who look like me ,my sister or
my mother.

Black women know beauty. An overwhelming 82 percent of us say it’s important to


be weel groomed , and 52 percent of us adhere to a set skin care regimen. Yes ,
there’s a reason that black dont crack .we’re also willing to send money to achieve
our goals. Yet de sipte our bring ideal customers , products suited for us have been
noticedly absent form retail shelves. But now black women have unleashed two
potent weapons our collective dollars and entrepreneurial spirits to create a market
that caters to our unique culturd needs.

● It's a busy work environment. If you are to work in a shop it is quite a fast
paced work environment, especially if you work for a big retailer.

● You get commission. Depending on if you hit your target or not you
can earn quite a bit of commission on top of what you would get on
either your hourly or salaried pay. It's a lovely little bonus.

● Uniforms are smart. Some of the uniforms for some makeup companies are
just "all black and stylish," but some are really smart and have to be worn to
the highest standards.

day.
● It's a very demanding job. Lots of customers will come or
ring all day long so you will be on your feet at all time.
● Even if you're a people person... some clients/customers
will definitely test your patience.

The evolution of beauty disability and ability is a


celebration of highly designed assistive devicos , adaptive
devies and apparel for those living with disabilites
historically , people with disablilets have not always been
held in the same esteem as ablebodied person regarding
leve of beauty, intelligence and ability.
