Science Lesson Review

Week 17
The three parts of ``The Cell Theory´´.
- All living things are composed of cells.
- Cells are the basic units of structure and function for living
things.
- All cells come from pre-existing cells. Also, organisms grow by
“adding on more cells” NOT by increasing the size of their
cells.

Differences between the plant cells and the animal

cells.
Plant cells have a cell wall, but animals cells do not. Cell walls provide
support and give shape to plants. Plant cells have chloroplasts, but
animal cells do not.

Compare what takes place in chloroplast with what

takes place in mitochondria.
Both the chloroplast and the mitochondrion are organelles found in
the cells of plants, but only mitochondria are found in animal cells.
The structure of both organelle types includes an inner and an outer
membrane. The differences in structure for these organelles are
found in their machinery for energy conversion.

Order the prts of a plant cell from the center to the

outside.
the cell membrane, the nucleus, and, between the two, the
cytoplasm.
Explain why a food that is claimed to make a person taller can’t do
this.

And as we know, calcium is critical to growing taller. Carbohydrate

rich foods especially those that are highly processed such as
cereals, rice, breads, and pastas can negatively impact the bodies
human growth hormones.

Which does the nucleus of a cell contain?

A- Chloroplasts

B- Chromesomes = Answer

C- Food

D- Oxygen
