ACTIVITIES – LESSON 1 – WHAT ARE SOME EARTH-MOON-SUN INTERACTIONS?

 Write in your notebook the vocabulary of page 491 or the vocabulary that you consider new or unknown for you.
 Search something new about the Universe on Internet. Write it in your notebook.
 Read pages 494, 495, 496,497,498 and answer the following questions on your notebook:
 What causes days, years, and seasons?
 What causes eclipses and tides?
 What are some Earth moon-sun interactions?
 How would the seasons be different if Earth´s axis were not tilted?
 Draw and explain what is “the effect Diamond Ring”
 What happens at the Bay of Fundy during a spring Tide?

ACTIVITIES – LESSON 2 – WHAT CAUSES THE PHASES OF THE MOON?

 Write in your notebook the fast fact of page 502.


 What are the phases of the moon?
 Which places occurs when the moon is on the opposite side of Earth from the sun?
 Read page 508 and write 5 main ideas about What Galileo does

 Read pages 510,511, 514-520 and answer.


 Which is the planet that we can observe from earth? 
 What is the largest planet?
 Solve all the sections “Main idea and details”

Week 4

ACTIVITIES – LESSON 4 – WHAT IS BEYOND THE SOLAR SYSTEM?

 Write in your notebook the fast fact and draw a picture that represent it
 Read pages 526,527,528,529, and answer the following questions.
 What types of stars can we observe?
 What are their cycles?
 How does scientists identify galaxies and explain the formation of the universe
 Read page 532 and answer what are two details that support the Big Bang theory?
