I think that Economics is as much as important together with other branches of science
directly related to making vaccines or in the field of health & medical. Developing
vaccines, implementing health protocols, and analyzing the new COVID variants is of
course the utmost priority right now but it’s equally important for us to direct attention to
Economics especially since that for some period of time the world practically closed
down. Alongside the recovery of COVID patients may our economy and financial
markets also recover from this crisis. There should be mitigation measures enforced by
our country to prevent the worsening reductions in income, rise in unemployment, and
disruptions in the transportation, service, and manufacturing industries.

2. PROS:
● Development of Renewable Energy- Modern environmental technology has
enabled us to capture naturally occurring energy and convert it into electricity or
useful heat through devices such as solar panels, wind, and water turbines, which
reflects a highly positive impact of technology on the environment.
● Enhanced Healthcare- Technological advancements n the healthcare industry has
saved countless patients and are continuously improving our quality of life.
Technology has enabled more accurate tests to detect diseases as well as rapid
communication of patient information.

CONS:

● Pollution- Due to technological advancements, productivity in manufacturing

increased, however, this also led to overproduction and in turn resulted in excessive
burning of fossil fuels, high emission of harmful gasses such as carbon dioxide,
carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide, nitric oxide and methane which causes air pollution.
● Deforestation- In the name of development, we cut down trees and burn essential
forests in a short span of time. We have used technology way too much to our
advantage but what we don’t realize is that deforestation does not only lead to global
warming, but it also causes a change in climatic conditions of regions.
3. One of the core advantages technology has brought is Convenience. Meeting up with a
friend or client does take more time and can be quite a hassle especially here in the
Philippines where traffic is severe. But now, communicating with other people is as easy
as one click on our smartphones or gadgets. With the rise of social media sharing of
 information is much easier and faster and the introduction of online video conferencing
apps promoted remote learning and online meetings.

Another one is Efficiency & safety. With the COVID-19 pandemic going on, online
delivery services have proved to be useful because it promotes contactless transactions.
Also, online shopping apps actually have more benefits as it gives discount and free-
delivery vouchers which helps buyers to save up money.
