important among the cycle.
 Elaborate the claim about the chosen biogeochemical cycle.
 Give example or citation of the claim.

CARBON CYCLE
In biochemical cycles, the carbon cycle is the most important. The carbon cycle describes
the constant exchange of carbon across all these different so-called “carbon reservoirs” or
"carbon sinks." For example, carbon from the atmosphere is absorbed by plants through
photosynthesis, where it enters the food chain. As plants and animals die, the carbon they were
storing gets released back into the atmosphere and the cycle continues. The carbon cycle, if left
undisturbed, will keep carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere balanced and world temperatures
stable. To put it another way, it enables our planet to remain hospitable to life.
The carbon cycle is essential to life on earth. The planet produces food and other
renewable resources through photosynthesis and respiration. It also acts as the earth's waste
disposal system when it decomposes. Humans are both producers and consumers of the carbon
cycle. Carbon is present in all living things. Carbon is found in both humans and the animals and
plants we eat. Humans have a variety of interactions with the carbon cycle. When we exhale, we
expel carbon dioxide, which is a kind of carbon. Carbon is released back into the soil when we
die and our bodies decompose. Carbon is moved through the carbon cycle through the burning of
fossil fuels for electricity and transportation.
In addition, the carbon cycle is important because carbon-containing gases in the atmosphere
affect the earth's climate. Increased carbon dioxide (CO2) in the atmosphere has been responsible
for more than half of the climate warming observed in recent decades. Therefore, when the
carbon cycle is not present anymore, the living and non-living population will decrease and in
some cases, it will be dissolved.
