To whom it may concern:

I am writing a letter of recommendation for Mariah Hobbs. Mariah worked at the Gary
Strong Curriculum Center, at the University of Idaho, from January 14, 2020-December 17,
2021, and was a delightful and competent employee. She was reliable, hard-working,
efficient, and kind. Her public service skills, assisting patrons with their queries, was
“above and beyond” what I would expect for someone her age.

Mariah’s typical job duties included answering the phone, shelving books, and assisting
patrons (community members, students, staff, and faculty) with questions. These questions
varied from simple directions to campus locations, to more complex questions that
required various levels of research to find the answer. Several times a year, we would
receive new library materials, and Mariah would assist with the processing of these items,
including but not limited to, adhering spine labels, stamping, and covering the books.
A bonus with having Mariah work at the Curriculum Center, was the fact that she was
majoring in Education. She was able to offer valuable assistance and insight to other
Education students, when they were selecting materials needed for classes, and for
studying for the Praxis exam. Mariah even shared information about the Curriculum Center
resources available to her classmates, during her many Education classes.

Mariah was a College of Education, Health and Human Sciences ambassador and in that
role, she represented the college at recruiting events, where she offered her extensive
knowledge about the college and the Curriculum Center to prospective students.
I can’t recommend Mariah enough! She is dedicated, self-sufficient, intelligent, hard-
working, reliable, and a fun person to be around. I was enormously sad when she left, and
would hire her again, if I could.
