Students will read the question and write the answers from Handout Book page-61:
Math:
➢ Parents will show the kids a poem: “5 little ducks” from Nursery rhymes. They
will ask the kids to notice that slowly the numbers of the ducks are
decreasing. Tell them the sequence.
➢ Now they will tell the kids that when a number /quantity is taken away from
another number then it is called subtraction. Today they are going to learn
subtraction.
➢ Now draw a big subtract sign and tell them that this sign is called minus (-).
Repeat the sign’s name for a couple of time.
➢ Students will practice subtraction orally with -1, -2, -3, -4 for memorizing.
➢ Draw some objects like candles, lollipops and show them subtraction by using
these objects.
➢ Give some more examples to make them clear the concept of subtraction.
➢ Show them the math stair for subtraction. Tell the children to count how
many stairs are there.
➢ Now point the rabbit on the 4th stair. Ask the children to say “In which stair
the rabbit is standing?” Elicit response.
➢ Now tell them that the rabbit can jump back very quickly when they realize
that danger is coming. The rabbit is now on 4th stair. Act and show the
situation of the math stair on the board. If the rabbit jump back 2 steps
then where is the rabbit now? Elicit responses and give more examples to
make them understand.

Instructions:
Parents are requested to discuss again the rhyming words? To jog their memory
tell them, usually a rhyme is a repetition of similar sounds that is exactly the same
sound. Rhyming words are two or more words that have the similar or same ending
sound. The words which rhyme at the end are called rhyming words, like cat, bat,
hat.....van, pan, man....
To make it more clear give them some idea, like some time we name sisters and
brothers which sounds like a rhyme...Mahin, Rahin or Rony, Bony.....
Now ask them like previous classes today they will learn more rhyming words with
“ip” and “in”
Remind them they will change only first letter, last two letters will be same all the
time and also remind them that word should be meaningful.
With “ ip “ ( lip, sip, rip, tip, zip, pip, hip, dip ) and with “in” ( bin, tin, pin, sin, fin,
win )
