Rubik's Cube Solutions

BEGINNER’S SOLUTION

Step I: Solving the White Cross on the Top Layer

Always begin solving the cube in following sequence: Blue, Orange, Green and Red.

For forming the White Cross, first move the edge piece around on instinct in such a way that it gets
placed directly below where it is supposed to be inserted. Then move the side 180 degrees & place the
piece in its right place. If the edge piece is in the right slot but inverted then use the following algorithm:
R’ U F’ U’

Step II: Solving the Corners on the Top Layer

This would be the end result when you achieve the white top layer completely.

For that move the corner piece around on instinct to the bottom layer into the place directly below where
it needs to be lodged. Then use the following algorithm and keep repeating this step till you get it right:
R’ D’ R D

Step III: Solving the Middle Layer

From this point onwards, you have to invert the cube to solve it further on. Now, move around the edge
piece in such a manner so that one of the colors of the piece is the same color and aligns with the center
line of cube. The other color should also be of the right color so that by using the algorithm to move it
right or left you can fit in to match the color of the adjacent side of the cube. Make sure that the other
color of the edge piece is not YELLOW. The use the following algorithms to move the edge pieces into the
right place:
U R U’ R’ U’F’ U F (To move the edge piece to the right side)
U’ L’ U L U F U’ F’ (To move the edge piece to the left side)

If edge piece is in middle layer, use any one of the above equations and the edge piece will get lodged in
the top layer. Then move it around as explained above and repeat the whole process.

Step IV: Solving the Yellow Cross on the Bottom Layer

Keep performing the algorithm till a yellow cross is achieved. No distinct orientation required at this
point of time.

The algorithm to achieve that is:

F R U R’ U’ F’

Step V: Solving the Yellow Side on the Bottom Layer

You will find the cube now in one of these 6 states.

Use the following algorithm & convert the cube into this state.
R U R’ U R U2 R’

Then apply the algorithm once again to achieve the desired result.

Step VI: Solving the Corners on the Bottom Layer

You will find the cube now in the following state.
For swapping the corners use the following algorithm. Use the following algorithm keeping the
swapping edges on the right side in a vertical manner to achieve the desired success.
R U2 R’ U’ R U2 L’ U R’ U’ L

Step VII: Solving the Edges on the Bottom Layer

You will find the cube now in one of these 3 states.

Use the following algorithm to achieve the following result;

F2 U R’ L F2 L’ R U F2

For final alignment of the pieces, use the algorithm again and the final result would be;

A Completed CUBE!!!
