1. Purpose of Document

This technical document covers the activity of 2G Sector Addition in the BSC & OMMB for Circles. The
purpose of this document is to describe the actions needed for addition of 2G Sector in ZTE BSC’s & OMMB .

2. Objective

The objective of this MOP is to provide the user as to how to perform 2G Sector Addition in BSCs & OMMB.

3. Scope
 The scope of this process document is to present the process 2G Sector Addition in BSCs & OMMB, which
is to be observed by SNOC, for ZTE based circles and Corporate Team.
 This process is for Vodafone Managed Circles Only.

4. Resources

 NETNUMEN Applications via SRAS.

 BSS Engineer should be technically equipped for BSC & OMMB activity.

6. Pre-requisites

 Pre check the plan in day time. (SNOC Responsibility).

 BSC should be in healthy condition. If any critical/major alarms reported same shall be escalated to
INM/Circle team immediately for rectification
 CR needs to be approved from all concern before 17::00 hrs.
 Activity Owners should be technically equipped to perform the activity.
 All changes should be done through SRAS.

7. Pre execution checks

1. Check for any incorrect or missing parameter in the given File by circle.
(Validation Step through NETNUMEN).
2. Check if BSC name specified matches with BSC NUM specified.
3. Take Pre Logs: Take all the required pre-logs of Planned BSC’s – SNOC responsibility
4. Managed Element Should Contain GSM in its Radio Standard.

5. Switching Board Standard Should Be in All or GSM Mode

 Optical Connection Need to Create Between RU & Switching Board Same need to Done at Field End

 After Adding RU & Creating Connection we need to Create Sector in OMMB.

Adding RU Port with Cell & number of Carrier in “RU(GSM)” Sheet in OMMB.

 Creating Carriers in “GSM Carrier” Sheet in OMMB.

 As OMMB Part is completed then we need to Add Cells in BSC.

We Need to add cell in BSC Radio “GGsmCell” Sheet with Cell ID & Other Essential Radio Parameter
Like NCC, BCC, BVC, RAC, BCC arfc etc.

 Hopping Frequency need to add for particular cell in “GHoppingFrequency“ Sheet

 Trx Addition Need to Be Done for particular Cell in “GTrx “Sheet.

 After Addition of cell you can Check Cell Status in BSC.

After Addition of particular Cell .this Cell should Also Defined to Core Nodes like MSC.

Check also current Alarm via Alarm monitoring.

Select “Fault” -> “Alarm Monitoring” in EMS client interface to open alarm monitoring interface

 Delete the Created Sector by Same procedure as it was Add.

 Roll out should be completed before maintenance window i.e 5.00
 Roll back plan should be decided/activated before 03:30 am.
