1. Define PEMDAS. – Parenthesis, Exponent, Multiplication, Division, Addition, Subtraction is

the order of operations

2. Define Descriptive Statistics. – Procedures used to summarize and organize data.

3. Define Inferential Statistics. – Generalizes the population and takes a sample of the

population to infer an outcome.

4. Define Qualitative studies. (Textbook) . – Class and label descriptors which are not numeric.

Research method that involves surveys, interviews, field work, etc. Does not involve

statistical analysis but a more personal view of the subjects.

5. What is an IV? (Textbook) – Independent Variables: The change factor

6. What is an DV? (Textbook) – Dependent Variable: The factor which is being observed.

7. Define Quantitative studies. (Textbook) – Number descriptors. Studies which involves the

research conducting statistical analysis on numerical data and generalizing it to a population.

8. Define Coding. (Textbook) – The way to convert non-numeric data to a numeric value.
