Annelies Marie Frank, age 15, tragically passed away in
February of 1945. Annelies Frank was born June 12, 1929, in Frankfurt, Germany. She was the daughter of Otto and Edith Frank and the sister of Margot Frank. She is survived by her father Otto Frank. Annelies Frank was a wonderful daughter and sister. She was a loving friend to many and cared so deeply for others. Anne enjoyed going to school and learning. She was smart and a gifted writer. On Anne’s 13th birthday she received her diary, in which she spent most of her time writing in. Anne had a passion for writing and wanted to become a best-selling author one day. Anne wrote about her many hobbies. She loved creating family trees from biographies and histories. She loved reading Greek and Roman Mythology books. She also enjoyed the world of art. In her diary Anne wrote, “Other hobbies are film stars and family photos. Mad on books and reading. Have a great liking for history of art, poets, and painters. I may go in for music later on” (p. 198). Annelies Marie remained hopeful while the world around her shattered. She was a light and inspiration for all. Her hopes were for the world to continue to cherish her diary as much as she did.
