Some people say that the main environmental problem of our time is the loss of particular

species of plants and animals. Others say that there are more important environmental
problems.

Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

Environmental issues have ubiquitously taken place in human life which have become an urgent
concern of national leaders and the whole community. Many people assume that the recent
extinction of various fauna and flora is the most threatening problem to our ecosystem.
Personally speaking, there are more important issues in the industrial civilization that need to be
solved such as air pollution, disaster devastation, the most catastrophic is climate change. This
essay will discuss both opinions precisely with a variety of compelling evidence.

To begin with, there are two reasons put forward to explain why people agree with the first
statement. Particularly, fauna and flora are interrelated to their environment. For instance, the
living of most wild animals acts on the food chain. It leads to a repercussion that the loss of one
spice can affect the other spices. Furthermore, biodiversity also is taken advantage of the
majority of human activities such as medication, chemical industry, ecology, which is vulnerable
when the main resources decline or even in case of extinction. The second reason is that plants
and animals play a pivotal role in food resources and agriculture productivity as well, especially
in developing countries. Hence, the loss of spices will expand the high risk of food insecurity and
negatively impact people who live under poverty.

However, nobody can deny the fact that there are more severe environmental issues besides. I
highly support the idea that climate change is the most serious problem which has been at an
alarming rate now. The adverse circumstance is man-made and has the potential to wipe out all
life on the Earth with a great deal with indications such as the sea level increase, natural
disasters, ozone depletion. They are determined to be the most compelling evidence that no
longer do people continually ignore. The Earth will be uninhabitable for humans if we do not
suggest a scientific solution to this emergency.

In conclusion, I must say that both statements have their right toward the total which carries out
different aspects of the argument. But I believe that climate change is more serious because
eventually, its catastrophic consequences not only devastate faunas and floras but also destroy
the whole life on the Earth.
