informative and cross-sectional analysis
was carried out. The survey consisted of
a total of 515 students between 18 and 28
years of age who were enrolled in the
2017–2018 course. The result shows that
women show a higher level of stress
linked to academic obligations and
having to communicate their own ideas.
Also, it has been observed that having
high levels of stress is associated with
weight problems, especially linked to
obesity states.

The association regarding self-

assessments of self-compassion,
depressive symptoms, health and suicidal
behavior. Serial mediation analyzes of
age, sex, and ethnicities were completed.
The findings concluded that Self-
compassion can protect towards suicidal
behavior, partially due to decreased
symptoms of depression and increased
interest in wellness behaviors. Individual
and campus-wide approaches to
encourage self-compassion and wellness
might reduce the risk of suicide on
college campuses.

Theoretical Background

The study is anchored based on the Three-Step Theory (3ST) founded by Klonsky and May (2014). It
postulates the “ideation-to-action” framework that should assist suicide theory, research, and prevention. The first
primary tenets of the theory are the development of suicide ideation because of distress and despair. Second,
distress and despair are intensified and is one of the major facets. Third, the theory perceived trajectory from
ideation based on the intensified emotions of distress and despair and shifts to suicide attempts which are
different phases as stimulated by the potential to commit suicide due to volitional, acquired, and pragmatic
suicidal risk factors which create an opportunity to overcome the fear and eventually end one’s life. The theory is
remarkably parsimonious in that the notion of suicide and attempts are empirically verified of only four factors:
distress, despair, inter-connectivity, and capability for suicide.

Similarly, the Integrated Motivational Volitional Theory of Suicide founded by IMV; O'Connor et al.
(2018) implies that failure and isolation are the key triggers of suicidal ideation and that the inclination to
intervene on suicidal impulses is clarified by gained potential combined with other considerations (e.g., proximity
to lethal means, planning, impulsivity). It states that entrapment (i.e., sentiments of certain annihilation) is
fundamental to the advancement of suicide ideation, and for a few, is welcomed on by outer conditions (e.g.,
thinking about a constantly poorly adored one). General stressful life functions are incorporated among the IMV's
volitional mediators—a lot of natural (e.g., stressors), mental (e.g., mental symbolism), social (e.g., introduction
to a friend or family member's self-destructive conduct), and physiological (e.g., torment resistance) factors that
encourage or block the change from ideation to attempts.

Conversely, The Embodied Theory of Stress (Francis, A. L. 2018) implies that accentuation between the
association of physiological behavior and psychological stress is hardly subversive. Putting into consideration the
perceived stress of embodiment presents the physiological activity in a different context. The theory in this
perception highlights the mutual nature between the psychological and physiological processes.
Feasibility

In accomplishing the study the researchers considered the following factors:

Skills. The researcher ensures that the problem of the study is within their capacity. The objectives are set
in line with the purpose of the research as well as the skill of the researcher.

Availability of materials and Literature Source. The materials administered by the researcher in
accomplishing the study are; WiFi and laptop. These are used to gain access and obtained literature source that
would support the study from online. The common websites or platforms use by the researcher are google
scholar, semantic scholar and more.

Time-frame. The researchers skill and the availability of materials and literature sources are factors in
accomplishing the study. Thus, the researcher creates timetable in conducting the research accordingly. This is to
guarantee that the study will be accomplished within the limited time frame set by the research consultant.

Ethical Considerations

This study will provide high regard for observing ethical guidelines throughout the conduct of the
interview and data analysis.

1. Competency of the Researchers. The researchers are taught and guided on what to do before, during, and
after encountering a participant. They know the proper procedures when conducting a survey and are
trustworthy individuals. They will consider the feelings of the participants and ensure that their rights and
safety are recognized respectively.

2. Informed Consent. The researchers will give consent to the participants asking their permission to
participate in the study. The purpose of the study is included in the consent and they will be informed of
their rights as the participants. The researchers will ensure that they will not feel uneasy during the survey
process. Their decision to participate or not will be respected by the researchers.

3. Anonymity and Confidentiality. The researchers will assure the participants that their personal information
will remain confidential during and after the transcription of the data so that their identities will remain
hidden. After the gathering of the data, the researchers should make sure that the answers of the
participants and the survey will not be leaked to anyone who is not included in the study.

4. Benefits and Risk. The participants do not have direct benefits in participating in the study but their
participation will help in finishing the study. The risks that the participants may encounter are the
following: the folder used to store the raw data might be stolen or lost that would cause the leaking of the
information given by the participants.

5. Data Storage and Disposal. The secretary of the researchers will be responsible for the storage of the raw
data in a folder. To make sure the data will remain confidential; the raw data will be stored in a folder and
will be kept securely by one of the researchers. Six months after the completion of the paper, the data will
be disposed of in an irreversible manner. The printed documents containing the data will be disposed of
using a paper shredder.
