In order to make site qualify the condition of construction, installers shall discuss with
end-user and cooperative parties on personnel cooperation, power and lighting source,
independent grounding, preparation of warehouse and other issues.
2.2.3 Count and storage of materials
1) Before lifting the escalator (or moving walk), accessories such as internal and external cover
plate placed inside, handrail guide rail shall be transported to the temporary warehouse;
2) After unloading the escalator, it is necessary to check if the package is complete to prevent
dust and other sundries from going into the escalator;
3) Installation materials in the wooden boxes shall also be transported to the temporary
warehouse;
4) All accessories shall be counted in line with invoice, stacked and stored properly. Please
contact after-sale service department in time if defects are found in accessories to avoid
affecting installation period.
2.3 When entering into the installation site, installers must wear proper work clothes, shoes
and safety helmet. Safety belt must be fastened to keep from falling when working up high.
Installers must observe safety rules and pay great attention to safety.

during inspection and acceptance of escalator (or moving walk)
7.4 The parts which are relevant to building interface (self-care parts)
7.4.1 Installation of vertical protective baffle:
1) Some preventive measures shall be taken if building obstacles can cause damages to
personnel.
2) Especially at the floor intersections and the place between escalators which are cross set,
vertical protective baffle with no sharp edges shall be set, height of baffle shall not be less
than 0.3m and the baffle shall extend to lower edge of handrail belt for at least 25mm, for
example: using a set square with no hole.
3) If distance between edge of handrail belt and any obstacles: A≥400mm, vertical protective
baffle is not necessary to be set.
Vertical protective baffle (as set square with no hole) shall be installed in the place which is no
less than 80mm from the edge of handrail belt.
4) Vertical protective baffle (as the set square with no hole) shall be rigidly fixed, but not flexibly
fixed.

as falling from handrail device, appropriate protective measures shall be taken. For example:
Ø Set fixed retention device to stop entering into this space.
Ø In the dangerous area, nonfloating rail which is formed by building mechanism shall be
increased to at least 100mm higher than handrail belt, and shall be 80-120mm away

dismantling 4 steps (or pedals), move opening to front of upper comb plate and use this opening to
check or tighten drive chain. Loosen eight fixed bolts of flange bearing in the handrail belt drive
axle, and adjust left and right tension bolts uniformly to make sag of handrail drive chain which
has no load is 5~10mm, then tighten fixed bolt.
After dismantling 3 steps (or 6 steps), move opening to upper part of handrail drive chain, shut off
power, and use brush to lubricate handrail drive chain.
8.9 Tension and lubrication of end drive chain of handrail belt
Use bolt to adjust heights of two transitional chain wheels to adjust tension degree of end drive
chain of handrail belt. Make chain sag keep 5~10mm in no-load condition and tension degree of
two left and right chains keep uniformly.
Inspection control makes escalator move upward, and oil can or brush is used to lubricate chain.
8.10 Check and lubrication of step guide block
Check friction condition of step guide block in lower machine room of escalator, guide
components must be changed if they are damaged seriously (wearing loss reaches 1.2mm) because
this will make step hit guide rail and rub with skirt panel also. Lateral interval between skirt panel
and guide components shall be no more than 0.5mm, if necessary, you can adjust skirt panel or
correct step which has changed its place. Add lubricating grease into groove which is in the front
of step guide block.
8.11 Inspection of oil level of reducer
Pull oil scale out to check oil level. Oil shall be added within the scale range of oil scale if it is
necessary. Profession shall carry out maintenance if there is an oil leakage in reducer.
8.12 Inspection of auxiliary brake
After inspection and adjustment, all the moving parts of auxiliary brake shall move correctly,
flexibly, reliably; interval between drop pawl and face of brake block is generally about 10mm in
normal condition.
