1. to evoke - bring or recall to the conscious mind


2. blue skies -  unrealistic or impractical
3. odour - a distinctive smell, especially an unpleasant one (запах, душок)
4. whiff – a smell that is only smelled briefly or faintly (подув, подих)

6. privet - a shrub of the olive family, with small white heavily scented flowers and

7. talcum powder - a cosmetic or toilet preparation consisting of the mineral talc in

singing the treble part in a church choir
10. to snuff out – to extinguish
11. vague - of uncertain, indefinite, or unclear character or meaning (невиразний,
розпливчастий)
12. hazy - covered by a haze (туманний, невиразний, імлистий)
13. cannot for the life of you understand or remember something - you
are emphasizing that you cannot understand or remember it, even if you try hard.  
14. I clean forgot - I completely forgot.
15. That's going back – that was a long time ago.
16. memory lapse - a period of time when a person forgets things that he or she
should have remembered (провал пам’яті )
17. Be etched on my memory. - To be something that one will always remember.

1. be pushed for time- to have a small or limited amount
of time available; to be in a hurry
2. all the time in the world - no time restrictions whatsoever
3. time on (one's) hands - a period of time that is not already designated for some
activity or use; free time
4. pass the time - to occupy oneself during a period of spare time
5. urgent -  requiring immediate action or attention
6. Run out of time
E.g: I didn’t finish the test – I ran out of time.
7. Save time
E.g: If you want to save time, this machine will provide the answer.
8. Kill time
E.g: We played cards to kill time until the bus came.
9.Take your time
E.g: There’s no rush – take your time.
10. Make up for lost time
E.g: I’ll have to work hard now to make up for lost time.
11. Take a long time
E.g: His injuries will take a long time to heal.
12. Give me a hard time
E.g: They really gave me a hard time at the interview.
13. Spare time
E.g: She devotes all her spare time to gardening.
14. Spend time
E.g: I spend time watching TV.
15. Waste time
E.g: I waste time listening to music every day.
16. Make time for
E.g: Today I’m busy, but I’ll make time for you.
17. Have time
E.g: Do you have time to help me?
18. Pass the time
E.g: I’m determined to pass the time.
19. On time
E.g: The trains are rarely on time.
20. Just in time
E.g: I arrived just in time for my flight to London.
21. It’s about time
E.g: It’s about time you cleaned your room!
22. Take time off
E.g: You must take time off the clock and make it a short game.
23. Tell me the time
E.g: Can you tell me the time?
24. Time passes
E.g: As time passes, it becomes more difficult to raise funds.
25. Dead on time
E.g: I left dead on time at 10.45 am.
26. Free time
E.g: I do a lot of reading in my free time.
27. Right on time
E.g: The trial lawyer was right on time for his next case.
