HOW TO WRITE YOUR OWN SCARY STORY
Narration is the telling of events; sharing experiences; opening a window
on other worlds unfamiliar to the reader. Good narration introduces the
reader to another reality, a world that exists the reader and writer’s
imagination.
Narrative writing gives life to stories and past experiences; creates
situations and fictitious stories. A narrative story is made up of the
following:
1. Plot
Plot refers to the series of events or actions that take place one after the
other which make up the story. A thoughtful and well planned plot is
guaranteed to make your story a good one!
2. Setting
Each story takes place somewhere, so your narration must tell the reader
where the story takes place. The place has an important role in the story
to condition the plot and characters.
3. Problem
Each story is written for a reason and narrates a situation or problem that
the main character facing.
4. Characters
Often a narrative essay is written in the first person, so the main character
is the narrator himself. There may be other characters involved.
5. Description
The story becomes more interesting using description to
engage readers more into the atmosphere and allow
them to become part of the story.
The places, the characters, and the story itself are
brought to life when written using descriptive parts,
adjectives and adverbs to give a detailed picture.
