ELECTROMAGNETIC COMPATIBILITY
Since the 1st January 1996 all lift installations are obliged to respect the essential requirements of the
European Directive 89/336/CEE concerning Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC).
The B-32 equipment is only one component of an installation ; it is therefore not obliged to show the
marking as stated in this directive. However in order to allow you to write your declaration of
conformity, and according to professional rules, all AUTINOR controllers are supplied with an
engagement of conformity.
if the B-32 equipment has been installed exactly as advised in this manual.

At european level, these rules are set out in the Directive 90/269/CEE, Consil Directive dated 19 May 1990
« concerning minimal heath and safety instructions for manual load handling with risks, to the worker, notably in the
lower spiral area ».

6.3.2.1 The dimension of machine room shall be sufficient to permit easy and safe access for servicing
personnel to all components, especially the electrical equipment.
In particular there shall be provided :

depth, measured from external surface of the enclosures, at least 0.9 m. This distance may be reduced to
0.6 m in front of protruding controls (handles, etc.).

Figure 2 Position of the sliding switches for parameter mode
BG17 BG15
This chapter contains information which will allow you to adapt the B-32
equipment to the specific conditions of the lift on which it is installed.
This adaptation is controlled by parameters, which you can modify according to your
needs using the removable parameter / diagnostic1 communication device as
described below in the paragraph Accessing the parameters.
The parameters are memorized in a particular type of memory called an EEPROM 2
(or E2PROM) which keeps the information even when the equipment is switched
off.
Each parameter is linled to an abridged name and an address which corresponds
to the position at which it is memorized in the EEPROM chip. As computers are
strange creatures, the addresses are expressed in a particular numbering systme,
called an hexadecimal system (= a numbering system in base 16), which is made up
of numbers (from 0 to 9) as well as letters (A to F). This peculiarity aside, you only
need to consider the address as an marker (think of the game of battleships).
The BG17 board is made up of 2 displays with 7 segments, 2 push buttons and 2
sliding switches (figure 2, page 13).
To access the parameters, the left-hand sliding switch must be at the bottom; this
position is shown as PAR (as in PARAMETER) on the board.
When the sliding switch is in this position, the decimal point on the right-hand display
lights up to remind you that you are looking at or modifying the parameters.
DISPLAY MODES
Depending on the information to be displayed, the B-32 uses the most appropriate
method of showing the information.
Digit Mode
The digit mode is useful to read or programme times, or the number of floors, or the
number of doors for example.
Example : If we have 2 door operators, we program 02 at address 03.
Segment Mode
The segment mode uses the individual vertical segments on the display as shown
below.
Segment 6 Segment 5
Segment 7 Segment 4
Segment 3 Segment 0
Segment 2 Segment 1
The segment mode is also useful to view the state of inputs and outputs :
Example : To check that the C0 input (car call to level 0) is correctly
read by the B-32, you need to look at segment 0 at
address 00.
To change from digit to segment mode and vice-versa, slide the ADR-DON-
MODIF switch to ADR/DON and press both buttons at the same time, and release.

ADR/DON
Scroll to the desired address (eg 03) by pressing the push buttons below the
display.
Press either button and the address will be displayed. Each time you press a
button the value displayed will be increased by 1.

9) WIRING CHECKS
Using the TEST hole in the top right hand corner of the BG15 board, you can check
every input connected to the controller. To do this, put one end of the testing wire in
the TEST hole, and with the other end, touch the end of the wire whose input you
want to check.
The TEST LED to the left of the TEST hole will light up if the contact is made
between the input tested and 0V or COMB.
Example : To check that the car calls are correctly connected.
When the C0 car call button is pressed, the TEST LED lights up ; it goes out when
the button is released.
The button is correctly connected.
You can test the outputs in the same way.
