Question 13
You and your family are visiting various attractions while on vacation. The graph below maps
the location of the various attractions. Each unit on the coordinate plane corresponds to 1 mile.
1/3=p<-> -3/1 = q<->
y=1/3x+3
y=3x+13
The slope for line q is the opposite reciprical of line p, so therefore since they are opposite the
point in which they intersect creates 4 right angles, making the two lines perpendicular.
d) You and your mom are at the aquarium and your dad is at the subway. You
decided to meet at the intersection of lines 𝑝 and 𝑞. What is the distance from
the meeting point and the aquarium? Round your answer to the nearest mile.
-3^2 + 1^2 = 10sqrt = 3.16
Type or write your answer in the box below. rounded = 3 miles
Question 14
In the figure below, line 𝑙 and line 𝑚 represent two parallel streets intersected by two railroad
tracks. Use the figure to answer the following questions.
a) Identify the angle formed by the lines that complete the pairs listed below by filling in
the blank.
Corresponding angles:
∠3 and __5____
Vertical angles:
c) Given that 𝑚∠13 = 66° and 𝑚∠19 = 3𝑥°, find the value of 𝑥. You must show your
work to receive credit. 180-66=114 114/3=38 x=38
X=38
