To compare integers, these are the things to remember.
As we move to the right on the number line, the number
gets bigger in value.
As we move to the left on the number line, the values
get smaller.
Positive integers are always greater than negative
integers.
I. To arrange integers from least to greatest, look at the
value of each integer on the number line. Then find the
least value up to the greatest value of integers.
II. To arrange integers from greatest to least, we are
going to see the value of each integer on the number
line. Then find the greatest value up to the least value of
integers.
Supply the inequality symbol > greater than
or < less than to make the statement true.
Write your answer in your notebook.
Day 3
Directions: Complete the table
below by writing the correct
resulting integer.
Multiply the following. Write
your answer in your notebook.
1. 4 x (-3)
2. 6 x 6
3. (-4) x (–5)
4. 8 x (-2)
5. (-7) x (-3)
Remember: The basic operations on
integers may be shown visually
through algebra tiles. These are
square tiles that represent negative
and positive numbers. In this lesson,
you can use black tiles ( ) to show
positive numbers and white ( ) tiles to
show negative numbers.
Rules in Adding Integers:
If signs are like, add the
numbers and place the common
sign on the answer.
If the signs are unlike, subtract
the number portion and place the
sign of the number with the
bigger value.
Rules in Subtracting Integers:
To find the difference of the two integers
change the sign of the subtrahend and proceed
to the rules of addition of integers.
Rules in Multiplying Integers:
To multiply integers having like signs, multiply
the numbers directly and write the positive
sign in the product.
To multiply integers having unlike signs,
multiply the numbers directly and write the
negative sign in the product.
Rules in Dividing Integers:
To divide integers having like signs,
divide the numbers directly and write
the positive sign in the quotient.
To divide integers having unlike
signs, divide the numbers directly and
write the negative sign in the
quotient.
Directions: Draw the tile representation
to show the number sentence below. Use
black tile to represent positive number
and white tile for negative number.
Day 4
Answer the following expressions by
show your solution through
illustrating of number line. Write your
answer in your notebook.
1. 6 + 4
2. -7 + (-2)
3. 3 + (-7)
4. -8 + 2
5. -1 + (-9)

Directions: Do the indicated
operations.
1. (-6) + (+10) = N
2. (-20) – (-5) = N
