1. What do you view about teaching? Define teaching as an art and teaching as a science.
Teaching is a method that is being used to share some knowledge and experiences to other
people. For some people teaching is passion because you are willing to help other people build
their own path in life juts to be successful in life just like the teachers.
 It is a science in that there are strategies and practices that a body of research has
shown to be effective in enhancing learning. Just like doctors, teachers should use
research to inform their practice. On the individual level teaching is a science also in that
teachers are constantly collecting data by observing their students in order to see if
learning is taking place and how they learn best. And, like scientists, teachers
experiment with new techniques or strategies to see how they work.
 It is an art in that teachers must bring themselves fully into their teaching. As a teacher
you will need to find the methods and strategies that work best for you. Teachers are
not standardized products. What works for one teacher may not work for another. Thus,
all the teaching strategies that you learn should be adopted and adapted to fit your
particular teaching situation and your personal teaching style. To be an effective teacher
you must carve out your own teaching philosophy and discover your own unique talents
and learn how to use them.
2. How do you describe a teacher and teaching as a profession?
 A teacher is one that teaches especially. The primary role of a teacher is to deliver
classroom instruction that helps students learn. To accomplish this, teachers must
prepare effective lessons, grade student work and offer feedback, manage classroom
materials, productively navigate the curriculum, and collaborate with other staff. The
teaching profession is exciting and challenging. Teachers act as role models, mentors,
caregivers and advisers. They can have a profound effect on the lives of their students.
Primarily, teachers will impart knowledge to their students to help them learn new
things about a specific group of subjects.

4. Explain in brief about the pre-service training program of would-be teachers.

Pre-service teacher training is one of the most important aspects of every teacher’s education
curriculum as it prepares student-teachers to become qualified teachers in the future. This
paper explored the pre-service teacher training programs in the Philippines through the
practicum experience of the 21 junior and senior BSED and BA English student-teachers from a
private university in Mindanao, Philippines. Data were taken from classroom observations,
group interview, and modified questionnaire. The findings revealed that there was a different
standard policy of pre-service teacher training programs for BSED and BA English. While BSED-
English concentrated on developing professional teachers for secondary schools, BA-English
focused on developing not just teachers but professionals with exceptional communication
skills. The student-teachers also reported some challenges in practicum teaching; classroom
management, teaching confidence, and lack of teaching resources. Some solutions to overcome
the challenges were suggested.
5. Define the meaning of School Curriculum and give an example of this.
School curriculum refers to a particular set of courses that a school or governing body
designates, but may also refer to a variety of activities designed to foster education and meet
the needs of a learning community.
An individual teacher's curriculum, for example, would be the specific learning standards,
lessons, assignments, and materials used to organize and teach a particular course
