2. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

3. DESCRIPTION OF THE UNIT

4. INSTALLATION AND INITIAL START-UP

 Place the machine on a solid foundation.

 By means of wrenches №14 and №19 (for


adjustment of the feet) and a level adjust the
machine so that the centrifugal arm is
horizontal.
This adjustment will reduce the vibrations when
casting.

 Make sure that the mains voltage is ~230VAC.


The plug which the device is equipped with is
mono-phase and strengthened.

 The respective contact is supplied together with


the device. Fit it on installation with a conductor

4mm in thickness as it is recommended to be
on a separate circle with fuse 35А.

 The contact must be earthed reliably.

 Make sure that there is water in the container (9


liters).

 Connect the plug into the socket.

5. PRACTICAL USE

5.1. PRESETTING

To ensure the normal operation of the apparatus before


each casting procedure balance of the arm must be made
depending on the certain weight of the used muffle and
the quantity of the metal needed for the casting. For this
purpose you must keep the following steps:
 Loosen the cross-shaped handle (18) until you feel
that the arm can move freely;
 Put the muffle into the bed (12);
 Put the crucible into the stand (13).

NOTE: When melting precious metals the usage of graphite


insert is obligatory.

 Put the necessary quantity of metal into the crucible;


 By means of the regulating handle (14) and the stop
limiter (15) adjust the orifice of the crucible to match
the pouring cone of the muffle but without touching
it;
 Slide the carriage (16) to the position most close to
the muffle;
 Move the counterweight (17) by rotating it until
balance of the mechanism is achieved;
 The non-balance resulting from the shift of the
molten metal away of the crucible to the muffle
during the process of casting is compensated by
rotation of the counterweight in direction opposite to
the muffle.

CAUTION! This adjustment described is essential for avoiding of the


vibrations of the apparatus when melting.

 By means of MPK adjust the starting momentum of


the centrifuge;

 Come into position of the crucible over the inductor.


When the position is correct you will hear an
interrupted sound. Lift up the inductor by pressing
the button LIFT;

 Close the lid in order to start the melting.

 Watch the melting process through the window of


the upper lid, and if the metal is ready for casting,
press LIFT. At this point the inductor goes down and
rotating mechanism starts turning;

 Casting ends after expiring the preset time or after


pressing STOP. During the casting lid is locked.

5.2. MELTING
There are two modes of melting - automatic and manual
- and they are chosen from the menu of the machine in
the submenu
SETTINGS> MELTING
The normal is automatic mode. In this mode the unit
operates with maximum power and the melting is the
fastest one.
In manual mode the operator can reduce the power of
generator by turning the MPK. The value is displayed as a
percentage of maximum or as a progressive bar.

5.3. CASTING
For this process the machine uses the principle of
centrifugal casting. Casting starts by pressing the LIFT
button.
The force of acceleration, which is applied during the
casting could be changed before melting when the
inductor is in lower position. This is done by rotation of
the MPK. The value is displayed as a percentage of
maximum or as a progressive bar.
The time for casting is preset, but the process, if
necessary, may be terminated by pressing STOP.
To ensure the safety of the machine during the casting
upper lid is locked and unlocks after completing the
process.

5.4. INFORMATION SHOWN ON THE DISPLAY The casting machine LC-CAST 600 has a large display and
LED indicators which show the work necessary
information and machine status.

Indicator 18 – the upper lid is locked / unlocked;

for generator working.
Up and Down arrows – the inductor is up or down.
When the down arrow lights and up arrow flashes -
inductor is lower position and can be lifted.
When the generator is working LED in the middle lights.
Indicator 20 – indicator for the cooling system.
Indicator 21 – indicator for casting process.
Indicator 22 – indicators for the upper cover.

DISPLAY When you turn the machine on it performs a self-test,

is displayed. After several seconds it is ready for work.

READY FOR WORK mode In this mode the next sign is shown on the first line:
1 line: ХХС YY:YY ZZ/ZZ
Where:
ХХC is the generator’s temperature;
УУ:УУ is the current time;
ZZ/ZZ is the current data.

It is possible not to show the data and the time if it is set


in the menu

TIME > CLOCK > SHOW

MELTING mode In this mode the next is shown on the display:


1 line: XXC MELTING M:SS
4 line: POWER PP%
Where:
ХХC is the generator’s temperature;
M:SS is the time for melting;
PP% is the melting power in percentage or as
a progressive bar;

CASTING mode In this mode the next sign is shown on the first line:
1 line : XXC CASTING M:SS
Where:
ХХC is the generator’s temperature;
M:SS is the time for casting;

HINTS Hints are shown on the second line of the display. They
depend on the machine state and give a hint of operator
what to do.

When the inductor is down If the upper lid is open and the centrifugal mechanism is
positioned properly the next sign will be shown:
2 line : LIFT to MELT

If the crucible is not pointed just over the inductor it will


be displayed:
2 line : CENTER THE POT

Come into right position of the crucible and you will hear
an interrupted sound for several seconds and the red LED
will blink on the display. At this point if you press LIFT the
inductor will go up to position for melting.
When the inductor is down there is information for the
initial torque and it is shown on the 4 line. The value is
displayed as a percentage of maximum or as a
progressive bar.
4 line : TORQUE ТТ%,
This torque can be set from 20% to 100% by turning the
MPK depending on settings in
SETTINGS > TORQUE

When you turn the machine on and if the upper cover is

In MANUAL mode for the power the information is


shown on the 4 line and can be set by turning the MPK.

SETTINGS > POWER

You can enter the MENU by pressing the MPK. The next

By pressing and turning the MPK you can choose and


enter in the next submenu or to choose and change a
parameter. By means of button STOP you can exit from
the menu.

casting. The switching between screens is done by
pressing of MPK.

Where:
TIME the time for melting / casting;
HOUR and DATE show the last time when the
machine had been worked;
Т1 & Т2 are the temperatures of the generator
before and after the last melting;
N is a number which is proportional to the load
of generator (to the used amount of metal in the
crucible);
TORQUE is the centrifugal force the last casting
was made with.
REV 1 is the time of first turn in milliseconds;

Sub-submenu LAST 10 The information is the same like in submenu LAST but
here with turning the MPK you can track the last 10
cycles.

Sub-submenus TOTAL and AFTER These are two identical screens with accumulated
DD/ММ/YYYY machine data. In TOTAL accumulation is from the data of
manufacture and in AFTER DD/ММ/YYYY the data is
after the specified date and can be reset. This reset is
made by pressing the MPK and confirmation.
The accumulated data are:
TG – the lowest and the highest temperatures of the
generator;
IG – the heaviest load of the generator;
UG – the lowest and the highest voltage of the generator;

The total time (in hours and minutes) is displayed on the


left of the last line and the counter of castings is
displayed on the right.

CLOCK
TIME FOR CASTING - here you can adjust the operating
time of centrifugation ranged from 10 to 90 seconds.
CLOCK – this sets the date and time. On the top line may
be prohibited from appearing on the screen.

The change is made by pressing of the MPK.


SOUND – switches on and off the sounds;
MELTING – switches between automatic and manual
control of the power.
In automatic melting the machine works in maximum
power with maximum speed.
In manual melting the power can be reduced down to
20% from the maximum power if this is necessary.
POWER & TORQUE – you can choose how to display the
value – as a percentage or as a progressive bar;
Submenu ENG/BG/RU/...
In this submenu you can choose between six languages:

6. DESCRIPTION OF ERRORS

When for any reason the normal operation of the


apparatus is interrupted, this is indicated on the front
panel.
The second line is displayed ERROR, and on the third line
is its description.
The following table explains the types of errors and their
causes:

SIGN ON THE THIRD LINE: DESCRIPTION AND REASON

OVERLOAD Current overload of the generator;

MISSING UG Missing voltage of the generator;

OVERRUN TIME Time to melt over the set (3 minutes);

COOLING There is no pressure in the cooling system;

OVERHEAT Exceeding the temperature of the generator;

IN LINK Communication error between the two boards, most


likely a bad connection;

THERMOSENSOR Problems with temperature sensor DS1822;

HIGH UG Voltage of the generator is greater than the specified;

LOW UG Voltage of the generator is less than the specified;

IN SOFTWARE Unintended error;

IN LIFTING Problem in the lifting mechanism;

GENERATOR Short circuit in the generator;

In order to pass on to mode READY FOR WORK press


button STOP or turn off the power supply and turn it on
again.

7. IMPORTANT PRACTICAL INFORMATION

Use only VOP crucibles or similar.


Before perform a casting you could warm up the metal in
the apparatus until it become red. This will reduce the
melting time. Do not heat the metal in muffle furnace.
Avoid placing of the machine in the immediate vicinity of
heat sources (radiators).
Avoid placing any objects on the apparatus body.
Regularly check the water in the tank as for this purpose
you open the left lid by a special switch.
Clean the rest of metal carefully as you look out for metal
particles not to fall into the brass pipes of the inductor.
The windings of the inductor should not come into
contact.
Clean the isolating plates of the inductor only with a dry
towel without using of water or any solvents.

The lifting and carrying is made with the help of special


handles mounted on the relevant places of the body. the
machine should be carried only by 4 persons.
No carrying and transportation in another state except
for vertical position is allowed!

17. The device is designed for usage in normal dental
premises up to 2000 m altitude above sea level.

18. The maximum relative humidity of the air must


be 80% for temperatures up to 31°С, decreasing
lineally to 50% relative humidity for temperature
40°С.

9. MAINTENANCE

Clean only with a dry or slightly moist cloth (no solvents!).


Change the safety locks with the announced valus only,
namely:
0,63А; slow (class T)
1,25А; slow (class T)
3,15А; slow (class T)
5А; slow (class T)
6,3А; slow (class T)

No repair activity by a service technician who is not


authorized by the manufacturer is allowed!
If for some reason you have to remove the centrifugal
mechanism, when you put it in place watch the signs are
on the same side.
If these signs are not seen and the crucible can’t be
centered, remove the centrifugal mechanism from the axle
and install it in the other direction.
