TOILET AND BATH DESIGN

TERMINOLOGIES

wall-mounted toilet

differs from a floor-mounted toilet in that the entire tank, or

cistern, is housed within the wall. It's a distinct unit from the bowl
that's frequently sold separately. A wall-hung toilet is one that is
attached to hardware hidden in the wall and does not contact the
floor. Typically, with one or two-two-piece toilets, Comfort Height will measure 17 to 19 inches
from floor to seat and Standard Height will measure 15 inches.

Rectangular Shower Cubicle

is a rectangle shower enclosure with a door and at least one side

panel that fits in a rectangular region in the bathroom.

Vanity Top

is a unit that combines a wash basin and a work surface. The base
of the unit is usually formed by a built-in storage cabinet or a
pedestal.
Veneer or Veneered

A thin layer of wood applied to another surface for decorative

purposes, or a veneered surface, as seen on upscale bathroom
vanity cabinets.

Single-Hole Faucet Mount

This term refers to a bathroom vanity countertop with a single hole

for installing a bathroom faucet.

Vanity Console

Another name for a vanity cabinet or one-piece vanity and

countertop.

Finish

A stain or weathering process that is applied to wood to give it a

specific color or appearance.

vanity mirror

also known as a makeup mirror, is a small hinged mirror that sits

on a pedestal on a dresser. It is usually double-sided, with one side
having a magnifying mirror.

Porcelain floor tile

very popular due to its waterproof and pet-proof capabilities.  It is an extremely durable flooring
type.  All durability aside, porcelain floor tile is diverse in design helping you achieve the
bathroom or kitchen.

shower

is a place in which a person bathes under a spray of typically warm

or hot water.

Tempered or toughened glass

is a type of safety glass processed by controlled thermal or

chemical treatments to increase its strength compared with normal
glass. Tempering puts the outer surfaces into compression and the
interior into tension

double-hung window

also commonly referred to as a double-sash window, is a type of

window that has two operable sashes that slide up and down

Recessed lighting

is installed directly inside a ceiling, wall, or other surface.

paint's finish or “sheen”

refers to the surface texture the paint creates as well how much light bounces off of the painted
surface — both of which can affect the way the eye perceives color.
