1.0 INTRODUCTION
The objective of this project is to construct a modern school in a rural setting where there are
limited services for education.
The school shall be called Mwino Foundation Nursery and Primary School. It will offer education
to the poor, disadvantaged village community where the Government of Uganda, through the
Ministry of Education, has been unable to successfully establish schools.
This school project is the initiative of Rev. Fr. Dr. Joseph Baligeya Isanga, the executive
director. Through his efforts, a plot of land measuring about 10 acres was procured way back in
2006 that will host the structures of Mwino Foundation Nursery and Primary School.

Mwino Foundation Child Sponsorship Program was formed because there was a great need in the
community. This program was initiated to support the rural children of Uganda who are orphaned /
disadvantaged and are living in abject poverty. Such children do not have access to education,
healthcare and sufficient food.
Through finding sponsors for these children, Mwino Foundation Child Sponsorship Program hopes
not only to provide them with basic needs, but also to help these children raise their self-esteem
and become self-reliant.
Sponsorship can be a truly life-changing experience for a child. For many of them it can be the
only chance to receive education and break the cycle of poverty.
Mwino Foundation was founded and legally registered in 2015. Among other objectives, it is
aimed at improving the lives of rural children in Uganda.
Mwino Foundation Child Sponsorship Program aims at working with orphans and needy
children by supporting them to receive education, nutrition and healthcare required to
overcome the threats of poverty and orphan hood.
The people of Mbulamuti and the neighbouring villages have no proper schools for their children
to study. The nearby school in the village is a small temporary structure with no doors, shutters,
plastered walls, benches, chairs and insufficient tables for the teachers. The community, therefore,
desires a modern school with up-to-date facilities.
This situation calls for the construction of a modern nursery and primary school to answer the
educational needs of the community.
Mwino Foundation Nursery and Primary School shall be located in the rural village of Mbulamuti
in Kamuli District in Eastern Uganda situated north of Buzaaya County, about 25 kilometres from
Nawanyago trading centre found along Jinja-Kamuli highway.

4.0. RESOURCES
The resources required to make the school project a success include the following:
Building Materials
Casual labour (locally available in Mbulamuti)
Expertise (provided by building technocrats)
Land (already procured)
Transport
6.0. FUNDRAISING
This project does not have specific funders. We hope to receive financial support from friends and
well-wishers of the school. Once the funds are available, the construction work will kick off
immediately and overseen by the contractor employed by Mwino Foundation. The construction
work will be supervised by the Mwino Foundation Administration to ensure that it is done properly
and according to the plan, budget and timeframe. Reports will be given to the donor (s) on every
phase of the construction work. The accountant will make financial records of all the expenses
made to ensure that the whole plan is implemented according to the budget. Review of the budget
will be done to avoid any creation of gaps on the budget items.
Step 5: Finishing (putting in fixtures): installation of safe water and electrical system, installation
of furniture and equipment and painting and handing over of the building to Mwino Foundation.
7.0. MANAGEMENT
The Trustees of Mwino Foundation will ensure the proper welfare of the school and its staff. They
will collaborate with the Ministry of Education, the donors, other Non-governmental Organizations
and the local community for the good of the school.
8.0. CONCLUSION
This project will be built in phases depending on the availability of the funds from the sources of
funding. It is expected and estimated that the school will take 1-2 years to be completed. After the
primary school is completed and the school activities run smoothly, plans may be made for a
vocational training centre. The project implementation plan may change as deemed necessary and
the budget revised accordingly.
