A Whole New World

Zayn Malik, Zhavia Ward

Unbelievable sights
Indescribable feeling
Soaring, tumbling, freewheeling
Through an endless diamond sky
I can show you the world A whole new world (don't you dare close your
Shining, shimmering, splendid eyes)
Tell me, princess, now when did A hundred thousand things to see (hold your
You last let your heart decide? breath, it gets better)
I can open your eyes I'm like a shooting star, I've come so far
Take you wonder by wonder I can't go back to where I used to be
Over, sideways and under A whole new world
On a magic carpet ride With new horizons to pursue
A whole new world I'll chase them anywhere
A new fantastic point of view There's time to spare
No one to tell us, "No" Let me share this whole new world with you
Or where to go A whole new world (a whole new world)
Or say we're only dreaming A new fantastic point of view
A whole new world No one to tell us, "No"
A dazzling place I never knew Or where to go
But when I'm way up here Or say we're only dreaming
It's crystal clear A whole new world (every turn, a surprise)
That now I'm in a whole new world with you With new horizons to pursue (every moment,
(Now I'm in a whole new world with you) red-letter)
I'll chase them anywhere, there's time to spare
And then we're home (there's time to spare)
Let me share this whole new world with you
A whole new world (a whole new world)
That's where we'll be (that's where we'll be)
A thrilling chase (a wondrous place)
For you and me

 Moral values of the song a whole new world by Zayn malik ft. Zhavia
Everyone has their own perception of seeing the world. when hit by a problem, some are
afraid to face it and choose to go alone because they think this world is so cruel. afraid to make
decisions, even afraid to dream. but without us knowing there will always be people who care
and sympathize with us.In essence, this song means that we always think positively in dealing
with problems that come and go.

 Meaning of the song

Verse 1
The meaning of Verse 1 is a self version of happiness. At the lyrics ‘I can open your eyes,
take you wonder by wonder, over sideways and under on a magic carpet red…’ It means that
Aladdin brought Jasmin around the world using that magic carpet that was a gift from Genie.
Aladdin can open his eyes and heart with the happiness of Aladdin's own.
Verse 2
The meaning of Verse 2 braves the sweet-bitter of life. At one of the ‘every turn a surprise
with new horizons to persue..’ These lyrics explain us to be courageous in the face of life's
bittersweet. There must be surprises at every step, like an unexpected Aladdin can marry the
princess. Aladdin himself is not as rich as Jasmin, it's even difficult.
Moreover, another meaning is love in simplicity. The meaning of the song "a whole new
world" can also be applied to everyday life. The message of this song is to invite a spouse to
always love in simplicity, for possessions are not everything to find happiness.

 The reason why this song is used to be soundtrack

The reason the song A Whole New World was chosen as the soundtrack for the Aladdin
movie is because this song was made specifically for the Aladdin movie and cartoon since 1992,
so the song has a meaning that is quite relevant to the storyline of the film. And One of the lyrics
that is relevant to the film is the lyric 'I can open your eyes, take you wonder by wonder, over
sideways and under on a magic carpet red' which means that Aladdin takes Jasmin around the
world using a magic carpet which was a gift from a genie.
 About the creator
Alan Menken
Alan Irwin Menken is an American composer, songwriter, conductor, music director and
record producer. Menken is best known for his scores and songs for films produced by Walt
Disney Animation Studios. His scores and songs for The Little Mermaid (1989), Beauty and the
Beast (1991), Aladdin (1992), and Pocahontas (1995)
Alan Irwin Menken was born on July 22, 1949, in Manhattan New York, to Judith and
Norman Menken. His father was a boogie-woogie piano-playing dentist, and his mother was an
actress, dancer and playwright. His family was Jewish. Menken developed an interest in music
at an early age, taking piano and violin lessons. He began to compose at an early age. At age
nine, at the New York Federation of Music Clubs Junior Composers Contest, his original
composition "Bouree" was rated Superior and Excellent by the judges
Early career
Upon graduating from NYU, he took a collection of his songs and wrote a rock-ballet for The
Downtown Ballet Company, called ‘Children Of The World’. The work itself has mercifully
faded into the distant past, but one aspect of that experience became the best moment in his life;
meeting a beautiful ballet dancer named Janis Roswick. As of November 26th, 2019, they are
together 48 years and married for 47
In the years between graduation and actually earning a living as a composer, Alan worked as
a ballet and modern dance accompanist, a musical director for club acts, a jingle writer, arranger,
a songwriter for ’Sesame Street’ and a vocal coach. He performed his material at clubs like The
Ballroom, Reno Sweeny and Tramps. He showcased material from early musicals like
‘Midnight’, ‘Harry The Rat’ and ‘Apartment House’. He contributed material to revues like
‘New York’s Back In Town’, ‘Big Apple Country’ and ‘The Present Tense’.
And then he met Howard Ashman.
Until working with Ashman, Alan Menken was almost exclusively a composer/lyricist. But
starting in 1978, when they met to discuss a musical of Kurt Vonnegut’s novel, GOD BLESS
YOU MR ROSEWATER, Alan and Howard became a songwriting team and with only a few
exceptions, Alan has seldom returned to lyric writing.
Then came ‘Little Shop of Horrors’, the musical that put Ashman and Menken on the map as
in-demand, up-and-coming musical theater writers. Based on the Roger Corman B-movie
classic, it opened at the WPA Theater in the spring of ’82, to great reviews, lines around the
block and countless offers from producers. It moved to the Orpheum Theater on 2nd Ave and St.
Marks Place, where it ran for over 5 years and set the box-office record for highest grossing Off-
Broadway show of all time. Productions followed in Los Angeles and London, along with
national tours and all the rest. Most exciting was a movie deal, which opened doors to
Hollywood.
Disney Renaissance and later films
On the strength of the success of Little Shop of Horrors, Menken and Ashman were hired by
Walt Disney Studios to write the music for The Little Mermaid (1989). The challenge was to
create an animated musical film of this Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale that could sit
alongside the Disney films Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and Cinderella. The Little
Mermaid opened to critical and commercial success and signaled a new Disney era called the
Disney Renaissance. The film gave them their first Oscar win: Best Song for the song "Under
the Sea". Menken also won the 1989 Oscar for Best Score
The two were working on Aladdin at the time of Ashman's death in 1991. Ashman wrote only
three songs in the film and Menken collaborated with Tim Rice, who was working on a project
called The Lion King, to write the rest of the songs for the film. The film won an Oscar in 1992
for Best Song: "A Whole New World". Menken also won the Oscar for Best Score
Three more animated musical films followed. Menken collaborated with Stephen Schwartz
for Pocahontas, for which the two won two Oscars: Best Song and Best Musical or Comedy
Score. In 1996, the same musical team created the songs, and Menken, the score, for The
Hunchback of Notre Dame. In 1997, Menken reunited with his early collaborator, David Zippel,
for his last film in the era, Hercules.

like a shooting star, once it comes to the earth it cannot go back to the sky.
Metaphor
 A whole new world. it is comparing the outside of the castle and the new world.
however actually there is no new world. it is called a new world because the princess
never see it before since the princess always stay at the castle. The castle is like an old
world for her and the outside is a new world.

there are many things to see in the world.
Hyperbole
 I can show you the world. in this line, it doesn’t mean that the man can show the
world in real to the girl. It means he can show many things to her but it stated in

 A hundred thousand things to see. The meaning of this line is so many things to
see. It can be seen that it show the overstatement. Because in real the things to see
