DANCE ANALYSIS QUESTIONS:

1. Describe the dance in terms of the elements used.

Space, time, energy, dance energies and group shapes are the dance components used in the
video. The dancers move horizontally or straight, creating a space to perform, doing little and
big movements and focusing on various directions.

2. What are the directions used in the dance?

The directions used in the dance are forward, backward , sideward and diagonal.

3. What is the timing in the dance? Was the rhythmic structure even or uneven?
Every step is timed differently by the dancers. It also follow the pulse or beat of music to define
the length of the dance. Sometimes the performers are slower than their usual tempo but the
movements are mostly matched to the usual beat.

4. What are the qualities of energies used? Are the movements bound or free?
The qualities of dance used are sustained, vibratory, swinging, and suspended. The dancers'
movements are bound since they are controlled.

5. What kind of bodily shapes were used? Was it rounded, angular or combination of two? Was it
symmetrical or asymmetrical?
In dance, the combination of angular and rounded  body forms was used. Sometimes the
movement was smooth, bouncy or unsteady. The body's form is  asymmetrical, as the body's
movements are different.

6. What are the group shaped applied? Was it symmetrical or asymmetrical?

The group shape was wide shape since between the two dancers there is still space for it. The
movements were symmetrical, because both dancers projected the same movements exactly.

7. How does the dance performance effectively apply the elements of dance in the performance?
Why?
The elements were mixed and used to efficiently produce a variety of body movements while
maintaining symmetry within the group. The dance moves were suitable for the music and
used appropriately throughout the performance with the help of proper timing and beat
because of the elements.
8. How does the elements of dance affects the overall effect of the performance?
The elements of dance are the basis of every dance performance; without them, a
performance will be dull since no body movements or styles will be used to create impact and
energize the audience.
