reinforced beam under the action of working load is subjected to a bending
moment of 60 kN m. Beam is 300 mm wide. Use M20 Concrete and Fe250
steel.

Q6 Design a beam of effective span 6 m to support a total working load of 15 kN

m including the self weight of the beam. The width of the beam is limited to
300 mm. Use M20 concrete and Fe415 steel.

Q7 Find the area of steel required for abeam of rectangular section 350 mm X
650 mm to resist an ultimate moment of 235 kNm. Use M20 Concrete and
Fe415 Steel.

Q8 Design a rectangular beam section for an ultimate moment of 165 kN m . Use

M20 concrete and Fe415 steel. Assume the width of the beam to be
approximately half the effective depth.

Q9 A doubly reinforced rectangular beam section is 250 mm wide and 500 mm

deep. It is reinforced with 2 bars of 12 mm diameter as compression
reinforcement at an effective cover of 40 mm and 4 bars of 20 mm diameter
as tension reinforcement. Find the moment of resistanse of the beam section ,
using:
(iii) Use M15 Concrete and Fe250 Steel
(iv) Use M15 Concrete and Fe415 Steel
